2010 TSUN arguments & shenanigans (in-season)

In a shocking development, it seems defense is still integral to winning ballgames. The shocking part is everyone seems to realize it now.

Bottom Line

The O needs more help than it's getting.

Simple as that

I'd say the bad personal foul hurt, the dropped kickoff by Gallon hurt ... but the D has to do more than they're doing - period.

What he fails to mention is that the offense seems incapable of playing four quarters. Three straight weeks they had mediocre first halves...then they're forced to attempt to mount furious comebacks. The defense sucks, everybody knows that, but the offense isn't free from blame.

I love how this team continues to fight when other teams would just give up. Wk in and Wk out they seem to never give up. I love this team and know that Rich is the man to guide us.

At last, someone that knows I am not serious. Just wanted to see what it felt like to have your head in the send and ignore all reality. If he were fired tonight, I would love to take him to the airport. What he has done to this program in three years in unbelievable. You couldn't do worse if you tried. 4 big ten wins and probation - you have to be a fool to be behind this guy.

and then the haunting truth comes out
1-13 Verse the following in 3 years IIRC.

Wiscy
Ohio St
Penn St
Purdue
Illinois
Michigan St.

Enough Said......... he has to go.
and now a new challenger emerges!

In part because you can't run a 180 lb kid 30 times a game for 3 months. This is why Pryor didn't go to Michigan, he wanted to run sparingly, not like a workhorse back. He would definitely be injured also even with his 240 lb frame.

They had to call a number of direct handoffs (not reads, watch his hands and body language) just to limit the hits on Denard, and that made life a lot simpler for the PSU defense.

It's a bad loss, no sugar-coating it

O puts up 31, but that's not gonna be enough with this D.

That does make it tough.

**PLEASE just show some class in what you post about it.

(makes me wonder what Oregon'd put up against us ... 80?)
Gotta give him credit, especially since Oregon still found a way in there

Tom...in all honest with as much as I realize just how bad the defense it....the saving grace has been the offense and it's potential.

Having said that...since we entered B10 play (after Indiana because quite frankly their defense is awful) I have questions creeping in about our offense...which IMHO would be THE reason to stand behind Rich and try to figure out the defense.

We scored 17 against MSU...turnovers sure but I go back to the bottom line being 17 points.

We scored 7 against Iowa with Denard in....before Tate came in and feasted on Iowa's soft Lloyd Carr with a big lead defense....

We scored 10 in the first half against PSU and then tore up the Nittany defense after they had the big lead and naturally started easing off (which happens all the time in football)...and let's face it their defense isn't that impressive to begin with.

To me, if we struggle offensively against Illinois, Wisconsin, and OSU you SERIOUSLY have to ask yourself what we're doing here.

You know what's funny is on Facebook during the game, Isiah Bell and Thomas Gordon accepted some friends.....just sayin'.
Good point(s). Having said that, staying the course will have the same result. This team is losing games it should be winning. Uninspired and unprepared are the reasons as much as the D

Love RR but want UM to return to being respected again and it appears that RR and UM are not a good fit. I could be wrong but I do not think so.
Yeah, I posted the same thing earlier. I've never seen a Michigan team come out that flat. There was just nothing there. Nobody slapping the other guy's butt, nothing. Just seemed everybody spent all their on-field time staring at the sidelines for the next play. Totally lifeless. And that's really depressing.

If you've struggled against all the of the other defensive juggernauts you're going to struggle against these 3.....

Only way we DON'T WIN tonight...

Guys, this game is all but over with a "W" for the good guys if we simply take care of the ball. I don't care about the white out, I don't care about the energy in the stadium, the fact of the matter that all these type of things will work AGAINST their QB situation.

We have fared well against poor QB play all year and will continue to do so tonight. I look for the week off to show up and help give a bounce in our backfield's step. Getting Cam OUT of the middle 3rd can only help matter.

Unless we have some super UGLY turnovers which I do NOT believe we will see, we should have no problems scoring and making a young QB feel the PRESSURE to produce which is all we will need to win and possibly win with EASE. All our D has to do is STOP the run. I don't care if we put 9 in the box, STOP THE RUN and this game is OVER!

Gotta love that they have the nerve to count any game as a "sure win" given what they've "accomplished" the past three seasons. Surely that this won't continue after tonight, right?
