Two points:

1. In reference to flaming - I was referring to my SEC counterparts on BP (Nutria and UBet).

2. Sorry for not funding Hockey, Rifle, Rowing, Pistol, Lacrosse, and fencing for mens and womens teams.

With the University looking to increase funding in a state hampered by a bad economy - a generous act by UGA AD Damon Evans.

Requesting 2 million be given to Academic programs in 2010 on top of the 6 million pledged over the next 3 years. The Athletic program had an incredibly lucrative year - time to give something back. :)

I'm very proud of this - we have a great guy in our AD.

You don't fund rifle/pistol, rowing and LAX as varsity sports? The OSU atletic page surely seems to think so?
Or are they grouping club sports with varsity sports on the site, in which case - my mistake.
Or are they not NCAA sanctioned sports but ones where Ohio State fields a team for national/international competitions -I don't know much about the sports at all. Any info would be helpful.

And thanks for the Equestrian congratulations. It's been successful since it works in conjunction with the Vetrinary programs and the facility was upgraded significantly before and after the 96 Olympics.

I'm pointing out that UGA doesn't fund mainstream sports like girls tennis, mens soccer, girls soccer, wrestling and macho sports like rugby & hockey. Those three you mentioned check in well below the others in terms of importance

For me, I've always separated UGA from the vitriol towards the SEC. Perhaps it's your coach, perhaps it's the lack of direct competition, but other than Gator's focus on your penchant for extremity humping, I haven't really experienced it. I'm sure there are some problem children out there (Lord knows we have plenty of them in our camp), but most of the trolls we've had here have been the coat-tail riders (Ole Miss, Tenn, Vandy, Auburn) & the limited (Bammer, who seem to be the most rampant on other boards too).

Yeah - there are limited anti-Buckeye voices in the UGA camp too. You're like China, pre Nixon years. A wild and distant place!
Of course, this excludes the non-student fans who are tards to anyone/everyone else.

Probably because of the very limited contact (as you mentioned). Outside of the baseball defeat at the hands of the Bucks last year - I can't remember the last time we've played in a revenue sport. Had I not spent time in Cincy, Dayton and CBus for a former job - I'd probably be in the dark too

During Richt's tenure, the only Big 10 teams we've played is the Kyle Orton Perdue team in the 2003 Cap One Bowl and Wisky in the 2004 Cap One bowl.

LSU = 2 football, 2 baseball
UF = 2 basketball, 2 football

UGA = ZERO
