2010 SEC and Big Ten OOC football schedules

that stance precludes you from ever using the words "The Big-10" followed by any phrase such as "sent four teams to the NCAA tourney", as all conferences are incapable of accomplishing jack shit, and only individual teams can have any relationship to athletic achievement, never a conference. Got it.
I'm glad you do. I don't know why you SEC fans can't grasp the fact that fans of teams in the Big Ten don't really give a shit what the other schools are doing. (notice how I say "SEC fans" and "fans of teams in the Big Ten".)

My stance doesn't preclude me from using the words "The Big-10 blah blah blah".....the fact that I don't view it that way because that's stupid does.

tOSU funds as many if not more sports as UF and every other year, they get way less money than a home game because we play at their place.
What is so hard to understand. You guys have one or no OOC away games a year. Every other year we go to FSU, and every year we have the half and half deal with the poodles. Yeah, that is a conference game, but no matter, it is still another deal where it is not the money maker a home game is. It is a great tradition, and we will not change it. If we schedule yet another OOC away game on the same year as an FSU away, then we would miss 2 1/2 (if TWLOCP is 1/2) home games. If we do it in a year when FSU is at home, then we would miss 1 1/2 home games. Either way, that is more home games than you are giving up.

Kyle, you guys never schedule two away OOC games in a regular season, so don't expect us to do what you guys do not do.

Oh, I got that two years ago.

I don't know why you can't grasp the fact that we SEC fans don't really give a shit what the fans of teams in the Big Ten think about it.

Teams in the same conference won the BCSCG four in a row (three different ones, same conference).

I thought it was because y'all in the south were just closer because of the civil war.

Don't make me look up the post I'm talking about, because I will.

Every other year, we have an away OOC game, just like fucking FSU. Got it? Every year you get half of the proceeds to your conference rivalry with UGA. How hard is that to understand?

So you get half of the revenue... twice as often as you host Tennessee at home... :so: Or are you hoping we're that bad at math?

1) The $$ from two years playing in Jax does not equal the $$ we earn from one year's home game. We do not get the use of Jacksonville Municipal Stadiuim and all of its facilities on a Saturday for free. It does not seat the swamp's 91K, but around 77K, so we do not make up that money, even if you credit it to us once every two years.

2) The difference is that you want us to play another OOC game out of the south for some reason. Sounds good, but if we do, then the years we play FSU away we would be playing two OOC away games. If we played an away OOC game on FSU "home" years, we are still missing the decreased revenue of the Cocktail Party thing. We could do it. But there are reasons why we do not think it a priority, and I've told you what the thinking is. Feel free to be unhappy.

Jax throwing heat in bid to keep Cocktail Party : Fanblogs College Football Blog
The T-U story breaks down payouts for Florida and Georgia in the current contract - which is set to expire after the 2010 game - and details why neither the Gators nor the Bulldogs would be better off moving the traditional game from Jacksonville.
Among the findings:
- Florida and Georgia are guaranteed $1.6 million per year - or $6.4 million over a four-year period.
- Both UF and UGA net about $2.2 million per home game. If the series were to move to home and home, both teams would make about $4.4 million over a four year span, approximately $2.2 million less than they currently make in Jacksonville.
Flipping cars requires geometry and and simple arithmetic to line up the manpower.

No quite....Since 1990 Ohio State actually scheduled 15 away OOC games.....

1990 @ Boston College
1991 None
1992 @ Syracuse
1993 @ Pitt
1994 @ Washington
1995 @ Pitt
1996 @ Norte Dame
1997 @ Missouri
1998 @ WVU
1999 None
2000 @ Arizona
2001 @ UCLA
2002 @ Cincinnati
2003 None
2004 @ NCSU
2005 None
2006 @ Texas
2007 @ Washington
2008 @ USC
2009 None

That is 5 times in the last 20 years OSU did not have an away OOC game. I believe these numbers are correct (although I am not sure about '90 BC or one of the Pitt games in '93 or '95. Even if these were incorrect OSU still would have played 13 OOC away games in 20 years. Florida at the max played 10.....
sorry they actually played 11.....

That is eleven away OOC games in 20 years, and one out of the state of Florida (Syracuse-loss).....
They have played three teams, Syracuse, Florida State and Miami-FL....

Well, jwins, thanks for sharing. The Jax deal has obviosly been changed from the days when it was a revenue loss deal. It says that the City makes 25-30 mil from the impact of drunk mutts and reptiles, so some obviously skilled negotiations have been in play since they tore down the Gator Bowl.

My humble apologies. I honestly thought that was a given, as past AD's have bitched about it for years.

So I can honestly say that the reason that we do not play away OOC games every other year is that we want to piss off the posters of BP.
