Oh really? Because I'm pretty sure they averaged nearly 5 yards per carry en route to 140 yards on the ground. And no team has ran the ball against Oregon? Stanford ran for 254 yards... Boise for 164, Washington for 129, Washington State for 107, Utah for 119, Purdue for 170, and Arizona for 127.goducks09;1626445; said:While it looked like they could run it down our throats, they didn't and no team just ran the ball against Ore.
Go ahead, we hope you decide to play the run and stack the box. For one, because we've ran for over 200 yards against much better defenses that stacked 8 in the box all game, and not only that but Pryor beat them deep for a TD.TP doesn't look like a threat to throw the ball against us so I think Ore will play the run as they have done all year.
Really don't see how this matters... Oregon doesn't have a player capable of replicating Pryor's size/speed, let alone his strength from under center. Not to mention its not like you tackle the QB in practice. Our D plays against a running QB in practice so they will be ready for Pryor.
... and Ohio State is ranked 19th in rush offense with Stanford at #11.The only team to run the ball down Oregons throat all day was Standford and their QB was having his best game of the year. Plus their running back was a Heisman candidate and is a monster of a running back. But in the end the final score was 44-20 with Oregon beating USC.

You make some valid points, but I guess stats are really moot point except for head to head, since we play different teams all year.Sportsbuck28;1626603; said:Oh really? ...if Oregon isn't up by a touchdown at halftime, we win. They haven't truly shut down an offense all year. Our defense has shut down just about every offense we've seen.
And also,
You suck.
goducks09;1626692; said:For the most part we don't have to shut them down, because we out score them. Thats why I think OSU will have trouble in keeping up with Oregon if it's a track meet.
