Game Thread 2010 Rose Bowl: Ohio State 26 Oregon 17 (Final, 1/01/2010)

Watching the Poinsettia Bowl, John Saunders said more Buckeyes are suspended for the Rose Bowl. Are they REALLY this late, or did I miss someone aside from Carter, Rose, and Small? (and DeLande, I guess)

I just heard that too and damn near busted my ass falling down the stairs to get here and find something.

Is he talking about Rose, Small, Carter? There isn't anyone else is there?

I've been sans interwebs for the past 2 weeks and have missed quite a bit...

...in catching up, I heard that Ohio State has suspended players for the Rose Bowl.

Did I miss the thread about that? Does anyone have any information?

Rose, Carter and Small are suspended. Rose and Carter apparently for grades, and Small for a 'violation of team rules'.

Yeah, they were just teasing old news. Thank goodness.

All 3 players had been reported to be ineligible for the game for several days, but prior to yesterday only Carter had been officially ruled ineligible by OSU. Rose and Small were officially ruled out by Tressel just yesterday.

I haven't taken the time to go through this thread to get a sense of the vibe but I'm going to add my two cents since it's the Rose Bowl thread. I thought that bot Cal and Oregon State were pretty good teams and they've both looked silly in their bowl games. Oregon State beat Stanford which beat Oregon blah blah blah, the transitives are going our way. After a 5-0 bowl season last year for the pac-10, looking at the match-ups I think they'll be lucky to win one game this year. I also think that BC will beat USC Saturday.

Interestingly, the Ducks and Bucks each have suspended a wide receiver with nearly identical stats: Jamere Holland (13-199-2 TD) and Ray Small (15-175-0 TD). So that issue appears to be essentially a wash - from the receiving standpoint. Return game is another matter entirely. :(

I guess we can't take you at your word.
Two strikes and your out on this site. Consider this your warning, particularly since you didn't bother to back up this cute little shot.

I don't see how calling a defense overrated is worth a warning. I provided valid statistics that could argue it might be true. Oregonians are supposed to be the sensitive ones, not blue-collar middle America.
