The Oregon Ducks are a chic football program these days.
Blessed by Nike's largesse, they are on the cutting edge in uniform design, with innovative, ever-changing color schemes.
They are cutting edge on the field, as well. The Ducks' free-wheeling spread offense is the seventh most potent among Football Bowl Subdivision teams. Oregon has averaged 37.7 points this season on its way to an outright Pacific-10 Conference championship and Rose Bowl date against Ohio State on Jan. 1.
The Ducks routinely sell out 54,000-seat Autzen Stadium in Eugene. Ranked seventh in the polls, Oregon has finished in the top 10 of the final rankings three times this decade.
Yes, these are the glory days for the Ducks.
For Oregon fans, it's been a long time coming.
