2010 polls - Pre-season and regular

According the Coaches', UCF is the highest ranked school in the state of Florida.

Three losses (to #s 6, 12 & 18) is worse than two losses (to unranked teams*). Whatever...we lost 'em, so I can't bitch about it.

Okay let me try to figure this out....tOSU was sitting at #10 when they beat Purdue 49-0 and a team ahead of them (Oklahoma) loses. The Buckeyes were dropped to #11.

Next tOSU beats Minnesota 52-10 and two teams ahead of them (Michigan St. and Mizzou) lose, tOSU stays at #11

Which brings us to this week. tOSU has a bye, three teams ahead of them (Utah, Bama, and Oklahoma) lose, not to mention Nebraska needs OT to beat Iowa St., and tOSU moves up only two spots to #9????

If you're counting, that's six loses by teams in front of the Buckeyes with the Bucks winning its two games by a combined score of 101-10, only to move up two spots.....Can I get an explanation please?

you guys are using reasonable logic. That is not what the BCS is.

The BCS is a joke, quit trying to figure it out.

MSU beat the #7 team in the country and lost to the #13 ? Iowa

We've lost to whisky and hav not beat a ranked team.

Nonw of it makes sense, or ever will

Lot of BS. Nebraska is [censored] compared to Ohio State. They lost to a Texas team that is atrocious on both sides of the ball and need OT to beat Iowa State while we lose to a top 10 team. Makes no sense to me.

Hopefully with the upcoming games and some luck we can somehow jump enough spots.

Not to mention that multiple 2 loss teams are ahead of us in the 'puters...

Mizzou, Iowa and Bama along with a 1 loss Utah. So Utah has beat no one and got boat raced by TCU...yet they are 2 spots ahead of us in the puters.

Puters continue to love the Big 12 for some reason.

Other interesting notes from the puters...3 way tie for number 6 between Stanford, Nebraska, and Okie State:

Stanford has beaten 1 ranked team and got boat raced by Oregon
Nebraska has a loss to a 4-5 Tejas team.
Oklahoma state's biggest win is Baylor which is similiar to the Miami Fl win. How we are 15 and Okie State is 6 in the puters is beyond me.

It really does go to show how the computer rankings mean jack-shit. With the right (or wrong) combination of data a mediocre team who's played nobody and beat the few average teams they DID play can be ranked #5 while a 1-loss, AQ conference team whose only loss is to the #5/6/7 in their stadium at night can be ranked #15.

At this point I don't even care. Bucky can have their fucking Rose Bowl, they just better win it. I'd rather have a go at an LSU/Auburn/'Bama/Florida/Cocky in the Sugar Bowl just as well.

Agree. If we win out, and do so in impressive and convincing fashion, we will make jumps just like everyone else has. Having MSU off our schedule this year has really hurt us. Combine that with no Conference Championship Game and Miami playing like a JV team and we have no SOS.

All eyes will be on us this weekend with Gameday coming to Columbus and we need to really wow some people with a dominating performance. Unfortunately, because Gameday is here this weekend, it won't be at the Iowa game.

Either way, the next three weeks gives us an opportunity to really earn some style points and increase our SOS.

ok....i just have to post again. This Okie State computer deal is [censored]ing me off. They are number 6 in the [censored]ing computers with non conf wins over 1-9 washington state, a 3 point win over sun belt powerhouse Troy, Louisiana Lafayete, and Tulsa.

are you [censored]ing kidding me....somehow this team is 6 and we are 15. It makes no sense.

Honestly, on paper, our shedules seem to match up pretty close. Loss to a top 10 team (nebraska and wisky) and 1 decent win (Baylor and Miami).....yet one team is bending over while the other is getting a BJ from the prom queen.
