i just think its kind of bullshit because i know people enjoyed going to the Renaissance and watching the game on actual movie theater screen, instead of going to a local bar or on their little TV at home...im sure Riverwatch tailgate and other places that use big screens may have special permission but aren't half the projector screens and TV's in bars more then 55 inches wide?? of course they are...just stupid the B10 conference decided to pick on this place...and i also feel bad for the renaissance since this is one other opportunity to make a little money

It is a ridiculous rule, but they're not just picking on this theater. The Dispatch ran a story a week or two ago about all of the theaters in the Columbus area getting cease and desist letters from the Big Ten.

I don't understand the 55" limit, but since this rule seems to be a recent devolpment, I think that movie theaters are just the first step...large projection screens at bars will be next. In fact, the Movie Tavern in Hilliard is a bar and a theater. They were informed that they couldn't show the game in their theaters, but could show them on their smaller than 55" TVs at the bar.

My home projection screen is 120". I got it specifically for football. I have an outdoor screen that is 9' x 16' for football parties. If the Big Ten shows up at my house with a cease and desist order, I'm going to separate Delaney's testicles with my foot...

Thinking the word will get out that Illinois hung with the bucks until the final 2 minutes. Add to that that Alabama obliterated Florida and that Boise State and
TCU won big, #2 in the polls is going to tighten up. If the Bucks don't put the hoosiers away by three scores they could end up slipping to #4.

I don't agree with that, but the poll idiots sure seemed determined to get at least one of those two into the BCS NCG.

Tonight was obviously disappointing but we can still win the conference and go to Pasadena. Iowa hosts Wiscy and Sparty, so I'm a Hawkeye fan now...until we go to Iowa City and beat their asses. :biggrin:

Time to put the Big Ten's Rose Bowl tiebreaking procedure in here.

If Sparty wins out, they're in the Rose Bowl unless they end up BCS #1 or #2. If they go to the BCS title game, then the Rose Bowl would be forced to take the highest ranked among Boise-TCU-Utah, as long as that ranking is somewhere between BCS #3 and BCS #12.

If Sparty loses 1 game and tOSU wins out, the two-team tiebreaker is the higher-ranked team in the BCS (since there's no head-to-head and both teams would have the same overall record).

For a 3-way 1-loss tie with Iowa, Sparty, and tOSU - Iowa would be eliminated based on overall record, and then Sparty-tOSU would be decided based on higher BCS ranking.

For a 3-way 1-loss tie with Sparty, Wiscy, and tOSU, it would be decided by the highest ranked BCS team. They do NOT use best winning % among games played head-to-head among the 3 teams.

A 3-way 1-loss tie with Iowa, Wiscy, and tOSU is not possible due to games remaining.

In summary, if tOSU wins out, 1 Sparty loss should put tOSU in the Rose Bowl, since they'd presumably be above Sparty in the BCS but not back to BCS #1 or #2. But if Sparty makes the BCS Title Game, tOSU would not get the Rose Bowl unless Sparty's opponent in the Title Game is a non-AQ team.

I'm not bothering to determine 2-loss champion scenarios at this point.

Remaining schedules:

Sparty (7-0, 3-0): @NW, @Iowa, Minn, Purd, @PSU

Iowa (5-1, 2-0): Wisc, Sparty, @Ind, @NW, tOSU, Minn

Wisc (6-1, 2-1): @Iowa, @Purd, Ind, @TSUN, NW

tOSU (6-1, 2-1): Purd, @Minn, PSU, @Iowa, TSUN

And, God forbid, what if it's MSU and Oregon in the MNCG? The Rose would have to take one of the teams mentioned above, would they have to take two?

Wait, I'm confused. Why, in the event of a three way tie with Iowa, Sparty, and tOSU, is it decided based on overall record first, whereas with a tie between Sparty, Wiscy, and tOSU it is decided by BCS ranking only?

I ask this because, with Iowa's remaining schedule, I think that they would be ranked the highest among those three teams in scenario #1, but according to this, Ohio State would likely go to the Rose Bowl.

It's because Iowa already has a loss OOC, they'd have two if we beat them

3 Way Tie for Big 10 this year?

Of course this all happens based on the results of the Hawkeyes and Badgers. Say Michigan State loses to Iowa and Iowa loses to the Buckeyes?

Who gets the Rose Bowl birth with 3 7-1 teams in conference? Do they give it to the Spartans based on them having the longest Rose Bowl drought? Or do they take team with the highest BCS standing?
