2010 Big Ten Football Discussion

Top-30 players and All-Conference picks. Second team picks are in the link.

In another section they listed Brewster as the 4th best pro prospect at any position in the entire league, but they pick Molk here, which seems odd.

According to these guys:
3. DE Adrian Clayborn, Sr. Iowa, 5. DE Ryan Kerrigan, Sr. Purdue and 12. DE Jack Crawford, Jr. Penn State all of them are > 16. DE Cameron Heyward, Sr. Ohio State

I guess I'm just a huge Buckeye homer because at best: Clayborn < or = Heyward.
If Cam is the third best Dlineman in the Big Ten and DL is once again the strength of our Defense that has consistently been one of the best in the nation (esp. vs the run) then where are Simon, Williams and Dex at on that list???All of them had significant playing time last year.

Point being, there has to be some reason our DL is a strength of our team. Maybe Ohio State has the 5th best defense in 2010 too...behind:

the Greg Jones led Spartans
the Tyley Sash and Adrian Clayborn led Hawkeyes
the Ryan Kerrigan led Boilermakers
the Jack crawford led Nittany Lions.

No offense to the other athletes but Cam played lights out last year and this just more pre-season fodder from a staff at CFN that has their collective heads all the way up their ignorant asses.

Supposedly these guys who play against Cam while they're on offense are better than him too:
9. OT Gabe Carimi, Sr. Wisconsin
11. OG Stefen Wisniewski, Sr. Penn State

And these 2 aren't far behind Cam:

18. OG Stephen Schilling, Sr. Michigan
20. C David Molk, Jr. Michigan

Gimme a fucking break.

16. DE Cameron Heyward, Sr. Ohio State
He's at worst a top ten player overall in the Big Ten this year and at worst the 3rd best defensive player in the conference.

This should be something the coaches need to pin up as a reminder when the Buckeyes square off against each and every Big Ten foe, reminding them that one of the best players on the team is still only 16th best in the conference.

So... CFN is predicting a meteor will hit the stadium?

Good catch. Based on the conference records, they're picking Wiscy to win that game, but they didn't color it as a win for Wiscy. They also should have 10-2 as Wiscy's overall record based on that.

I actually think Clayborn is the best overall player in the conference. He just seems to make big time plays in big time moments and is a man beast. I think Heyward is the 3rd best defensive player in the conference behind Clayborn and Jones. I actually think he is the Buckeyes best player. Of course Pryor is higher than him because the importance of the position. heyward should be top 5.

On side note I just hope Molk stays healthy for us this year. It seemed like things on the o-line went to hell when he went down.

The conference preview has tOSU losing at Wiscy, but winning the league.

CBS

Their preseason 1st team has Pryor, Posey, Brewster and Justin Boren on offense, and Heyward, Homan, Rolle, and Chekwa on defense.

Renaissance cancels big screen showings of Buckeyes

MANSFIELD ? Renaissance Performing Arts Association has canceled the showing of all Ohio State University football games in the Renaissance Theatre, 138 Park Avenue West, because of Big Ten Conference rules that prohibit the showing of games on screens larger than 55 inches wide, the theater announced today. Renaissance President/CEO Mike Miller said he pulled the plug on airing the games after theaters in Columbus received cease-and-desist letters from the Big Ten Conference.

I've never heard of that rule. I guess they think it will hurt stadium attendance in the conference.

So what is a place like Woody's Tavern in the Ohio Union supposed to do? Put an ACC or SEC game on the big screen?
