2009 TSUN News (football only discussion)

I've been quiet about this.. but I've quietly been rooting against Cissoko more than most scUMmers.. I had the displeasure of having a brief interaction with Cissoko when he was being recruited. He was one of the most arrogant pricks I've met in some time. His "celebrations" on the field despite being burned over and over kind of confirmed that he's just a douche.

So, good.

So you played against him?

UM has no CB depth, as seen by the drastic improvement by moving an undersized safety to CB this weekend (Woolfolk). Turner will eventually help them (maybe not this year), and they recruit the position well enough going forward, but this may be a case of addition by subtraction, despite his raw talent.

Boo Boo has been a major distraction. He's been a headache on the field, the sidelines, the practice field, and he's not even doing the student athlete thing any longer (since being benched).

The only thing he's accomplished this season is arm-waving & taunting the opponent for bailing him out with drops or stepping out of bounds.

It's not over, but Boo Boo has a lot of his body out the door up north.

Last year, UM's defense was very disappointing.
This year, UM's defense has been fairly bad.
Next year, UM's defense could be even worse.

They lose Graham, and it's possible that Warren could declare for the NFL, particularly with the bounce-back year he's having. He will be a first day pick.

Not only does UM not have anyone to replace Graham, their rush LB position - Quick - is getting abused in the running game. Iowa ran it right down their throats on the right side, as Kirk pointed out (they found something they liked). Iowa got away from that on multiple drives, and the drives stalled. There was little room to operate running left.

UM needs Emilien, Turner & a few young LBs to step up in the worst way for next season, or the offense & defense could continue to race in opposite directions.

Tate Forcier will remain Michigan's starting quarterback, if healthy - AnnArbor.com
11:28 a.m. More thoughts from Rodriguez on Tate Forcier and his injury: "We made a few mistakes, as freshmen will make," he said. "Tate's got a little concussion - I didn't know that at the time - he got it on the last play he was in. He got hit pretty good. Those concussions are day to day, and I don't think it was a severe one."
Rodriguez said Forcier would probably need to practice by Wednesday this week to see action against Delaware State this weekend.
11:25 a.m. If Tate Forcier is healthy Saturday, he'll be Michigan's starter at quarterback.
11:23 a.m. Rich Rodriguez on the quarterbacks and his decision at the end of the Iowa game:
"Denard was going in the game. I’ll be patient here. What we did in the game is what we did in the game, and that’s what happened. He did a nice job on that first drive, and then on the second, he didn’t and they won. Tate made some decisions and some that I think he’d like to have back."
11:21 a.m. Boubacar Cissoko is practicing on the scout team during his suspension. Rich Rodriguez says the reason for his suspension is not only academics-related, but that there are "some other things" too.
11:40 a.m. Running back Carlos Brown is "fine" and is expected to play against Delaware State.
11:45 a.m. Punter Zoltan Mesko, on the failed fake punt on fourth down against Michigan State:
"I'm pretty good at cussing myself out, and I did take it hard," he said. "You have those games where it's just like on the golf course. Sometimes you're amazing and get lucky, and sometimes you're so bad you want to jump off a cliff. That was one of those jump-off-the-cliff games for me."

That is a huge blow to this defense for 2010. Seriously, if DickRod doesn't recruit and land some bad ass DL/LB in this next go around, that D is screwed for a few years.

As much as I love to see scUM down, if they don't start acting like a D1A team soon, the ass beatings we give them will feel like beating up the local "slow" kid. Somewhat satisfying, but just not that good of a feeling.

Well Jason Forcier is saying Tates AC is worse than people thought...combine that with a concussion and you have a disaster in the making at Michigan.

Once you get a concussion its twice as easy the next time. We have all told Michigan fans this but if he goes down its over...their season that is.

On GBW they have fans that are backtracking...their fanbase is weird in alot of ways. Now they act like Denard is their savior.

We tried to tell them

Interestingly enough in the tongue of the Indians who originally inhabited that state up north "Weird" meant "arrogant, delusional, fucked up pricks who's mothers should have hit them in the head and sold the milk".

I think the Indians pretty much nailed it.

Heres what is even more funny. They forget the games he brought them back already. There are fans over there that are saying that Denard was going beat him out anyways...he is weak...He lost the game for them back to back weeks. They would be 2-4 without this kid without a doubt.

If I was RR I wouldn't play him this weekend but we know that douche is too stupid to let this kid rest. IMO he gets kncoked out for the season this week or next. Then RR can scream at Denard for losing every game the rest of the season.

If Robinson is the only healthy QB they better enjoy the win over this HS team they scheduled because it will be the last one they can count on. They are heavy dogs to pick em at best the rest of their schedule with that defense and a completely 1 dimensional QB.
