Wermers said he didnt like the kids Rich is bringing in and then said he loved his teammates those are the facts.

you conclude he is a racist based on that comment? are you kidding me!?

that is a pretty disparaging and reckless comment to make about somebody without more evidence than the above statement. he could be a racist who knows, but to make that determination based on the above is inappropriate. period!

So again how exactly does race play any role in this? Wermers said he loved his teammates and obviously race wasnt an issue with that since they are of all different races. He might not like the "kids" coming in because maybe he doesnt like thier attitude or something else. But of course race is the easiest thing to point to since it makes Wermer look like a bad guy and RR's program look better.

obviously things can change, but sounds like another big recruiting loss in Seantrel Henderson. Again, Michigan is not a likely destination for players who aspire to make it to the NFL. Big-time recruits will consitently be told playing in a system-offense will limit their pro-potential. I can guarantee almost every coach Seantrel has talked to put that in his ear....

Big loss? It's July and getting Henderson was going to be diffcult from the beginning. The nfl argument is getting old and tired. If you can play they will find you!

No him leaving made the team GPA go up which in turn makes RR's program look better.

Better get used to it. The ESPN types have started the occasional mention that "system" players are a bit of an NFL unknown... I think this has to do with the relative shock that there were questions about Michael Crabtree...

In any event, if I know ESPN, they're just beginning to beat this topic in to the dirt. Better get used to it.

Steve Slaton did pretty well in the nfl last year wasnt he considered a "system" player in college?

Didn't say it was my argument... just noticing what the talking heads talk about.

Edit: But, that said, it's true enough that there are "system player" concerns. How many TTU QBs are getting it done in the league? How about Colt what's his name from Hawaii? Don't know if that translates to RBs, or OLine.. or whatever.. just saying the talking heads are now considering the suggestion rather than simply slobbering over college performance.

I always thought it was amusing that UM fans thought they were a serious player for Seantrel's services.

It's not old and tired...it's a reality of DRod's offense and how it translates to the NFL. DRod can recruit as many scat-backs and mobile QB's he wants, but it will be hard to find legit wide-outs and offensive lineman that want to play in that system. If college football is designed to prepare you for the NFL, Michigan's system is NOT ideal.

Steve Slaton is a bad example becuase he's a running back. That's a position DRod should be able to recruit well because its a cornerstone of his system. The fact that a Rimington Award winner can't make an NFL roster is a bit telling...

Its one thing to recruit under the radar guys for his system in a watered down Big East, and another to recruit on the national level with the big boys. Elite prospects who are assuming they will someday be playing on Sunday, aren't going to spend 4 years under DRod in a system that doesn't develop them for pro-football. I said that from Day 1. When Lloyd left, out went a pro-style offense and tons of NFL draft picks. DRod comes in, installs a new, innovative offense, but a system that won't attract elite level recruits in multiple positions.

Case and point.....Terrelle Pryor. Wanted to learn how to become a true QB, and thought OSU was the better choice than DRod's system spread. Gardner is a great propect, and good fit for the system, but it will be interesting to see how he develops as a QB. I will be shocked if UM ever lands elite level o-line recruits or wide-receivers. I'm semi-surprised so many slots have committed.
