Bringing up the 3-9 record to me means nothing. What do you expect with a walk on freshman QB who had no business being out on the field.
That's true, but as an indictment of RR, not an excuse. He had no business starting for Michigan, even with an inconsistent QB like Threet. The kid couldn't complete a 7 yard rollout pass, let alone make a variety of throws to keep the defense honest Threet was very inconsistent, but Sheridan was much worse.

It's not Nick's fault he was asked to do more than he could. OSU has walkons who are an asset to the team but would be quite suspect if OSU ever lost Pryor and didn't start Bauserman in his place.

QB is by far the most important position i would take Aaron Oplet over Nick Sheridan in a second.
Oplet just completed his third season as a starter, yet his numbers remain indistinguishable from Threet's.

Threet: 102-200 51.0% 1105 5.53 9 TD 7 INT 15 sacks
Opelt... 225-376 59.8% 2176 5.79 12 TD 7 INT 15 sacks

Had Threet throw the ball 376 times like Opelt*
Threet: 193-376 51.0% 2079 5.53 23 TD 13 INT 28 sacks

* - 376 is about right, considering Sheridan attempted 137 passes and was even less effective than Threet. I think it's reasonable to suggest that starting Threet all year would have led to 2-3 extra passes a game.

Opelt scored 6 points vs UM and threw to one player. He is not a good quarterback, even if that was the only game you watched.

General LOL at the UM program: if *only* they had a QB as good as the one at the University of Toledo they might have found a way to beat the Rockets and would have had more than 3 wins.

How many times has Toledo played a BCS conference team and had a decided advantage at the QB position?

Yeah, it is working RR.....stay the course.

Why did UM start a walk on again? Oh...because RR evaluated all the QBs on the roster...let the best one leave and passed over the others to start the walk on. No doubt he has a keen eye for QB talent...not many other coaches would have been able to see all the way down the depth chart and recognize the potential in the walk on..and start him....kudos!

Threet's first pass vs Toledo was a pick 6, but there's also the question of why they didn't keep running.

Handing off to a scatback like McGuffie limited the offense as much as anything. Put Minor in there and you don't come away with 3 points on three drives inside Toledo's 10 yard line.

Overall, Threet was a more consistent passer than Sheridan... yet he didn't play a snap after halftime. Sheridan had two costly interceptions to show for that decision.

There's also the matter of the confidence & mental makeup of a starting QB, particularly a young one. What little confidence there was shown in the QB position was given to the guy who couldn't pass. That certainly plays a factor in the back of any qbs mind (when you have two qbs, you have no qbs).

But, I though that one GoBlue poster said SCum had the edge to OSU in X's and O's, and this post suggests that RR mismanaged the game? I find that hard to believe.

It's barely coherent drivel from a self important program sycophant. Anybody still clinging to the notion that Boren quit because he's a me-first lazy fat bastard is delusional. Did he burn bridges? Of course. But this season it's going to become (more) obvious that athleticism or work ethic had nothing to do with his decision. You can criticize Boren for a lot of things, but that guy just rehashes the same tired lines that have been repeated for the past 18 months. They weren't true then, and they're not true now. Moreover, the spin that the coaching staff is are nice-guy victims is amusing.
