RR targeting his teammate as well (a theme with RR), 5-9 CB Adrian Witty. (holds Kansas and Florida Int offers)

I'm guessing they will say RR is going after the All Broward County Honorable Mention team because it wouldn't be fair to the rest of us if they used the first teamers?

WR Je'Ron Stokes had a great trip to Illinois. He's still "committed" to Tenn but wants to make sure between them, ILL, UGA, Mich.

Illinois made up a lot of ground on this visit. UM folk felt very optimistic here heading into the weekend.

I think it will come down to Ill and Michigan. Hoepfully Forcier can sway him to come to Ann Arbor. Michigan doesn't really have a big time receiver in this class and he would be a big get.

I'm continually beating a dead horse on this, but if Stokes is smart he goes somewhere that can develop for the NFL, if that is what he aspires to do after college.

UM's system will not help him get to the next level. Tennessee and Illinois are both much better options at that position.

Funny, because Illinois insiders are equally as confident...

Gallon doesn't count as a big time receiver to UM fans?

There are questions about whether or not he is going to qualify...

Scout.com: Did Jackie Shipp steal one? That's the rumor.

Pearlie Graves
It's strange he would want to go to Michigan...I guess Ou didn't recruit him very hard from the beginning. The wolverines got in on him early. Come home to Norman and show your pearly whites, Pearlie.
OU has now offered.

Stokes out, Brown in? -

Over the past weekend, wide receiver Je’Ron Stokes from Philadelphia (Pa.) Northeast made an official visit to Illinois.
He won’t be visiting Penn State this weekend.
Stokes made official visits to Illinois and Michigan the past two weekends. Before taking his trip to Illinois, Stokes said he would likely make an official visit to one more Big Ten school - Penn State - the weekend of Jan. 30.
On Monday night, Stokes said he is done making official visits.
“I’m not going to visit Penn State,” Stokes said. “In my heart, I didn’t feel like Penn State is the right place for me. I didn’t want to waste their time and they were looking at other people.”
With his official visits completed, Stokes’ decision is down to Tennessee, Illinois, Michigan and Georgia.
“I’m going to announce on Signing Day,” Stokes said. “I haven’t made up my mind yet. It’s a hard decision. They are four great Division I institutions with great people. I’m just thinking and praying so I can make the right decision.”
...Cont'd
PSU folk say they didn't have room for stokes.

Well time will tell. Some players just do better at the NFL than college. Steve Breaston has shocked me at what he has done at the NFL. I thought he underachieved at Michigan even though he has all the kick/punt return records. He has played well for Arizona to my surprise.

Well the Buckeyes get alot of interest from the top qbs in the country. When is the last time an OSU qb did anything in the nfl after having a good career for OSU. It still doesn't stop great hs qbs looking at OSU.

Stokes has raved about Coach Dews. Not sure why, but he feels he's a great coach and will get him to the next level. Family as well

This year, UM's fundamentals (routes, blocking, etc) at WR were their weakest in a long time and that wasn't just talent.
Stokes could be used as a deep threat and run longer routes.
He's being sold time in the slot as well... if Gallon qualifies, PT will be tough to come by there, especially if Robinson is healthy.

Agreed he has been quite a surprise, though there were a number of players under Carr who blossomed quite nicely in the NFL or in their final college season. It will be interesting to see if that trend changes under RR, who arrived as a guy known for maximizing (or even overachieving) the talent level on roster.

Until Troy, it rarely got beyond 'interest' :!... but you are right that college success sells as well.
