2009 TSUN News (football only discussion)

Got permission to share coachBT's breakdown of UM's new verbal
IMO Paskorz adds size and strength and projects well at RVBs stong side DE. Is solid at POA and does OK job getting off and rid of blockers. Wish he did better job of keeping them away/off his body intially, but that can be coached. He does not have the quickness or agility to play in space and succeed at spinner. He also would be a very good max back candiadte. Because IMO his best trait is his physical, fundametally sound blocking skills. Kid has an excellent wide base and moves his feet well when blocking.
Thing to remember is that to play RVBs strong side DE you must have the size, strength, and skills to move inside and play as DT when spinner lines up as DE. Paskorz has the combination of size and toughness to play a 3 tech DT in these packages IMHO.
Sounds like a solid pickup. Probably not a difference maker talent that the 09 D currently lacks (maybe turner eventually) other than Graham (who is up and down).

Scout $

Chris Forcier expected to transfer (rumor, but very solid one). UCLA has oversigned by 6 spots before Chris transfers.

UM has been speculated for both Forcier brothers, whether it would happen was a wait and see thing.

pretty much confirms my speculation, he is too small (right now) to play DE and too slow to play linebacker, he is a project, which fits nicely with the pattern of Rodriguez recruiting like he is still at West Virginia

is he talking about future size after Barwis gets a hold of him? I would LOVE to see Michigan playing with a 6'4" 225 pound 3 technique DT against the Big Ten

I am not saying that Paskorz isn't going to turn into a fine football player, but he has a lot of developing to do between now and then in my opinion, and Michigan needs help NOW on the defensive side of the ball

this doesn't convince me at all that Rodriguez knows what he is doing on defense, but I guess we will wait and see who else falls in line

You guys are being awfully hard on U-M for that loss to Toledo.

"They're in a conference that allows non-qualifiers in school. Non-qualifiers. Do y'all need to look that one up to write your stories? ... Do you know what kind of players non-qualifiers are, usually? They're inversely proportional to what their grade-point average is. They can make a big difference."
