ASU was also looking at the Marve guy that was transferring from Miami

Whew!! ASU dodged a bullet there. That kid has a huge ego, and his talent doesn't match from what I hear down here from "Da U" fans.

OK, back on track.

Meatchicken sucks big, floppy donkey dick.

No, I'm in favor of a playoff. College football will hit a new level of fandom when you can make a playoff and win the national title while still losing two games during non-conference play to top bcs schools. I'm all for playing the best teams you can, but the BCS doesn't reward for it.

So, since that never will happen, you'd rather watch your team face off vs. directional m*ch*g*n teams, what was once N_tre _ame and other table scraps? Makes sense.

I'm glad he picked Purdue then. You guys will get to see him a lot if he ends up playing for Purdue. Doesn't sound like we got anything special in Threet. Hopefully some good coaching can get Threet progressing.

Yeah. If playing USC and getting a L instead of Eastern Michigan and getting a W prevents UM from getting into the MNC game, hell yeah.

Like I've said two other times, until the BCS discourages it in some way, the is not point in playing top competition. You only do it for exposure.

Honestly, I feel the same way for osu. Say osu loses to USC this year but goes undefeated the rest of the season. Had osu played William and Mary instead and gotten a win, they'd be playing for the title. Wouldn't you be pissed that you missed your chance to play for the title because of one game???

Well, to each his own. I'm a Buckeye fan and like getting excited for big games. You're a m*ch*g*n fan and will take a win wherever you can get it. Get used to it with master shredder as your coach.

Nope. We're not afraid of top competition. I enjoy the excitement and atmosphere of big games. Clearly, you'd prefer a cheap win.

Sure, while that's true, without the history, the rivalry doesn't exist.

Only if you taper the history, and not focus on the earliest portion of it to justify your "dominance" over a team that has played you dead even over 82 games and has beaten you seven of the last eight games.

I flat out guarantee you that if we lose only to USC this season--especially if it's a really good game--we'll be in the national title game...mark it.

It's not a guarantee. Texas this past year. There are too many examples of teams that deserved a shot at the title, that missed out because a computer said they weren't the top two teams.

Uh, wanna bet? No fucking way that Ohio State goes 11-1 with only a close loss to USC and not go to the NC game.

The best teams should be in the national championship. Beating up on the William and Marys, Appalachian States (oops!), etc. don't determine anything other than records. Beating USC? Now that would prove something. I'll take the challenge. I'm glad I attend a university whose football program isn't afraid of competition that isn't necessary, considering their status in the college football world. It should be mandatory for these programs to schedule other powerhouses, not rare.
