2009 TSUN News (football only discussion)

Nope. They aren't making a big fuss.
Right, the first response on mgoboard doesn't read like this
I realize the football program funds a lot of other athletic sports, but do we really want to continue scheduling FCS teams. Martin has stated we need 8 home games, but can't you up the strength of opponent? This can result in one thing only and that is embarrassment- either from losing, narrowly winning or tearing down the tradition of being the winningest program in college history by padding that record against patsies.
As a season ticket holder I can't stand the thought of paying $50 a ticket for this type of game. Kind of like paying full price in the NFL to see a pre-season game.
Clearly that's a lot less "fussy" than someone pointing out that UM is padding their schedule. What a horrific, unfair statement to be found on a buckeye board! Good thing you're here to be outraged by that claim.
You are the one claiming "padding their record"
Point out the strong team in that lineup.

It's true a lot of teams do it.....

Penn State, Kansas State and Texas Tech come to mind immediately.

And those teams get ripped for it by the same people ripping Michigan now... and the same people who ripped OSU for its 2007 schedule.

Exactly. I could care less who UM or osu play. Personally, while it may be entertaining to watch, I think it's ill-advised for osu to play anyone the likes of USC. It's high risk with a reward that just ain't much better (in BCS terms) than a W over youngstown state.

That was one person. And he continues to write like that the whole thread, while most people appose his opinion.

Your fans used to be one of the loudest mockers of PSU's fearful OOC scheduling, along with OSU, ND, etc.

Right, better to be faced with as little competition as you can get away with :roll2:

Talk about a disconnect from reality.
