2009 TSUN arguments, shenanigans (not football)

he must not be into family values

Appears he isn't into gimmick offenses that don't prepare people for the NFL either.

"I don't think I fit as well (at Michigan) as I fit with Western Michigan's system," the 6-foot-8, 300-pound Dann O'Neill said, citing the Wolverine's new spread offense under coach Rich Rodriguez, which calls for smaller linemen. "In high school we ran the spread, but we ran a different spread. I'm not sure it was the right offense for me to run.
"(WMU is) a better place for me to be, a better place for me to advance my college career.

Careful, Don'tHateOState might hear you and get all pissed off you called an offense a gimmick.

Yeah, I actually thought of that when I wrote it.

I have an easy solution. My definition of gimmick offense:

Any offense that can't be translated to the NFL that a certain gaggle of yellow clad fuckheads from that state up north run as their primary offensive set.

It's not up for debate or translation in my little world. :wink2:

Plain and simple he got beat out by other tackles.

His overall point of not progressing in DRod's system is rue though. While it may be a cover-up for why he left, DRod's syetm is an awful system to progress to the NFL. He has proven it over his entire coaching career. And Rick Trickett has taken the same mentality to FSU, where they have very few NFL prospects on the O-line. Slender O-lineman that are quick and can move. Nothing wrong with that philosophy at the college level, but it just isn't what NFL teams are looking for.

Which is why I expect Seantrel Henderson to choose another school in the end. The negative recruiting in regards to Michigan is going to be in his ear the entire process from pro-style teams. Pete Carrol and Charlie Weiss will hammer-home the lack of development for 3-4 years at UM by playing in that system....

I guess we will just have to wait and see...

The kool aid brigade shows up and leaves this gem:

I am Michigan grad, and a U of M fan since my tenth birthday(40+years). The alums, students and PLAYERS are thrilled to have CoachRod on board.

Lloyd Carr is a great man, and a fine coach. Unfortunately, the program had experienced a steady, slow decline in the last few years. RR stepped in and changed everything. Last year he had one returning starter(a sophomore) on offense. I believe 11 true or RS freshmen ended up starting on both sides of the ball. Yes, it was rough, but the Wolverine nation is fired up.
His recruiting has been fantastic, and the work ethic that he has instilled in the kids is nothing short of awesome. And, as an aside, the overall football team GPA set a Michigan record. The team is still young, so 2009 looks like a six or seven win season. Next year, however, we will challenge for the Big Ten title. GO BLUE!!!

Last 2 years under Carr scUM went 11-2 then 9-4 but was in a slow decline. RR then comes in and changes everything by going 3-9. They have somehow convinced themselves this is a good thing.

Its all good though because this year rodent nation is "fired up" so thats going to get them to 6-7 wins and next year-2010- its B10 championship or bust.

:slappy:

Have I ever mentioned that given the disparity of failures in AA and South Bend this decade vs the success in Columbus, this might be the single greatest period of time to be a Buckeye in history?
