just got done watching every high-light film I could find on him.
What sticks out the most to me is his straight-line speed and acceleration. He displays very good change of direction as well, but he doesn't seem to know how to or have the patience to let others set-up blocks for him, and he doesn't read blocks or defenders that well either. His route running isn't very smooth either, seems like he only runs the same deep route or a screen on every play.
DJ definitely has better size and speed than Manningham, but Manningham clearly was a more polished as a WR and Mario clearly had a field awareness and a swagger that DJ is missing.
I do like this pick-up though because he shows tons of upside and you just cannot teach speed and I believe that some of his deficiencies as a WR can be masked in an offense where he can get out in space and use his greatest asset- his speed.
