2009 TSUN arguments, shenanigans (not football)

just got done watching every high-light film I could find on him.

What sticks out the most to me is his straight-line speed and acceleration. He displays very good change of direction as well, but he doesn't seem to know how to or have the patience to let others set-up blocks for him, and he doesn't read blocks or defenders that well either. His route running isn't very smooth either, seems like he only runs the same deep route or a screen on every play.

DJ definitely has better size and speed than Manningham, but Manningham clearly was a more polished as a WR and Mario clearly had a field awareness and a swagger that DJ is missing.

I do like this pick-up though because he shows tons of upside and you just cannot teach speed and I believe that some of his deficiencies as a WR can be masked in an offense where he can get out in space and use his greatest asset- his speed.

was there something unclear about my last post on this subject, or the subsequent split? Last warning.

If you have something to add to the BuckeyePlanet discussion about their recruits, then do so. But this is not the place to express your excitement or support in every thread about a Michigan verbal. That website is called RecruitingPlanet, our sister site.

The recruiting forum is very organized (kept on topic about one kid or topic), neat (no profanity), and buckeye-centric. Other fans are welcome to chime in with their insight into a recruitment or evaluation of a prospect, but it exists as a buckeye archive of news. Breaking down William Gholston's play is one thing, as he is still in play for OSU (even if 2nd to MSU), but players that aren't relevant to OSU should not be bumped above other prospects just to say 'yay'.

For instance, bumping the threads for Wilkins, Robinson, etc buries the updates on Alex Smith, Darrion Hall and Nick Montana. Many people do not naturally visit the 2010 forum and only see the most recent thread listed by itself.

Not that you seem to care much for the rules of this site, but on the off chance that you simply couldn't follow my last post, we'll give you one last chance to shape up.
I just posted about DJ Williamson in....get this.....the DJ Williamson thread!!!
And again bumped threads to do little more than celebrate the pickup and skills of kids coming to Michigan. That's not the purpose of this thread or forum.

Where would I have you celebrate all day about Michigan recruits? On a michigan site or the michigan forum on recruiting planet. This is a BUCKEYE news archive, not a sounding post.

How many threads have you bumped for our buckeye fans in order to celebrate what's coming to Ann Arbor? 6? 8?

Hundreds of outsiders read these threads every day, some even contribute where it is welcome. Bumping Williamson's thread, having a warning issued about said bumping, and then bumping it again... well I'm guessing you're just not interested in following the rules. That's fine, but your stay here will be short.

The espn boards are easier to understand. Or so I'm told.

Your "contribution" to our site has consisted of:

1. Getting defensive about RR in Henderson's thread, UM's #1 offensive target.
2. Bolden comparisons to UM verbal, Gardner.
3. Bumping a month old thread on UM verbal Williamson
4. Talking about UM's offense in Smith's thread (the first post with some value to us)
5. Celebrating Wilkins' fit in UM's defense
6. Celebrating Robinson & his hype.

Seem to get the picture, sticking to the TSUN thread and a few active OSU/UM recruiting threads.

7. Come back with the bumping to celebrate clutter, this time in Pace's thread.
8. Bumping Williamson's thread for the second time today.

Most of these are decent contributions, actually -- especially 7 and 8 (see, he's getting the hang of it over time). The buckeyeplanet community seems to agree, since biggiesmall has racked up some reputation points. Maybe those posts should go under the Pace and Williamson threads on recruitingplanet, fine. But splitting them off to the TSUN board makes no sense.

I think you should either post them on recruitingplanet, or put them back under the Williamson and Pace threads.

It was a "welcome to BP" rep from me, fyi.

I generally rep new users who are making an attempt to contribute. Didn't realize he'd bumped that many threads.

This thread is a catch-all for TSUN news/recruiting. This is where most of his contributions belong. Bumping old recruiting threads that we aren't interested in clutters up that forum.

#3, #5, #6, #7 & #8 are little more than 'michigan is getting a good one, and here's why'. How is that a useful contribution in an archive of buckeye recruiting, particularly when none of the threads were active at the time? Only 1 of those was actually targeted by OSU, and he's been headed to UM for years.

1) I can't move them between websites.
2) I shouldn't have to clean up his clutter.

Other fanbases have often enjoyed our structure and approach for recruiting, which is why we created recruitingplanet, to give them the platform for those conversations and celebrations. Illinois fans in particular were overstepping their bounds here but have thrived and been big contributors on RP.

I never thought of the recruiting forum on Buckeyeplanet as solely about the Buckeyes

I'm not an OSU fan and I check this site all the time to see what people have to say about the Ohio players and about shared recruits (I even brave the TSUN NEWS board because there's sometimes good info among the homerism).

There's nothing like this site for Michigan recruiting (no, recruitingplanet does not cut it), so I imagine you get quite a bit of UM-fan traffic -- especially to the threads about players committed to UM. So I imagine there are lots of readers who are interested in those threads. Of course, you need to maintain the identity of this forum as OSU-centered, but it's not like he's starting whole new threads or anything.

I always thought of this site as welcoming other schools' fans as long as they're respectful. Going after biggiesmalls just seems like it's against the norm for over here. Maybe he just rubbed you the wrong way?
