2009 TSUN arguments, shenanigans (not football)

Most schools recruit their talent from their own backyard.

WV neighboring states are very fertile recruiting ground, which should be factored in. WVU recruits heavily in both PA & OH.

within driving distance there is definitely a solid recruiting base. (PA, OH, VA, MD)

I would guess wisconsin puts more players in NFL than WVU , and is not in a superior geographical location for football talent.

Can anyone tell me what happened to Sam Mcguffie and why he is no longer with Michigan? Did he transfer, or was he forced out? What happened to him?

Transferred to Rice. I guess his family situation was not very good at all. He was a pretty big loss, considering I think he could have been a good player. He should have redshirted last year to put on weight, and working on running lower.

McGuffie chose to transfer back closer to home (Rice?). He came in with insane hype due to his "matrix mixtape" and GBW building him up to precarious levels (like the last frosh texan before him). He was not physically or mentally ready to contribute last fall, but between RB coach Fred Jackson's affinity for him and other RBs being inconsistent (Brown - health, Minor - attitude, Grady - effectiveness), he was the feature back. His style was not well suited for RB, as his vision wasn't the greatest, nor was he willing to take a hit without turning his back. He may have been better suited for slot WR.

sucks for them to lose a kid at such a position of need.

No word on Turner. Perhaps that's the guy RR mentioned might not qualify.

Turner would be a bigger loss, imo. I thought I heard somewhere that he's either taking a class, or just recently took the science portion of the OGT. Something like that. I guess I was more worried about Gallon, since Turner has already met the requirements for the clearinghouse.
