2009 TSUN arguments, shenanigans (not football)

In case you weren't aware, RR is a hot name on UM boards to replace Meyer, and only those RR-hating UM-fans would fail to recognize how great of a hire he would be.
Yeah, why wouldn't the most successful program in CFB the past five years want a guy who has fallen flat on his face at his first major program.:rofl::rofl:

Classic Tom Beaver. Now that m*ch*g*n is falling back to the pack for Hankins' services, he literally says scUM doesn't "really want him". What a fucking shithead. Sure did spend a lot of time providing daily updates on a recruit um didn't "really want". :roll1:

We're not talking about the usual group think here, where only haters would fail to recognize rr's obvious appeal for that opening. This was a declaration - in a half dozen threads - that everyone outside of the um fanbase knew that rr would be a tremendous hire for them. That's a new one, stuffing your delusions into everyone else's mouth.

Maybe rr will be successful in time at um. Maybe a 360-raised football fan would think that rr would make it an easier transition for an 'option/spread' team (though you'd think a gamer would remember how different those two playbooks were, especially with how every online user used Florida and their playbook in last year's game).

That also opened the tanker full of worms about whether rr would adjust his offense to the more traditional qb replacing tebow, John brantley. That got a lot of threads locked.

Then my personal favorite, the thread calling out rr-haters for talking about how great rr would be for Florida. That completed the gamut, every single opinion on the subject was in danger of being an anti-rr troublemaker.

Then again, rr's agent could always start putting his hat in the ring

----------

As for the departed assistant, Hopson was hailed as rr's star recruiter, who proceeded to whiff badly after spending the year in Dixie. He picked up the talbotts this year in Ohio, and has grimes set to come aboard, partially by offering a package deal. They will still land this talented db, but I wonder how many packages they can offer. They seem to do this far more often than schools like um usually do.

Sorry if this was covered, I've been on vacation and on a phone.

Well, it's all a moot point with Urban waivering now. But, just the very thought of rr coaching in that conference is comedy gold. He'd get chewed up and spit out faster than a Browns coach.

Also, if you have access to the thread I linked above, Re: Hankins, give it a look. It's getting good. A poster calls out beav on his sour grapes bullshit (which he is well known for) only to have beaver's lapdog SonofJorel rush to his defense...several then pounce on him for his bullshit. It's a microcosm of the dynamic on gbw. Beaver gushes over a recruit, m*ch*g*n loses ground, beaver claims they didn't really want/need that recruit/x recruit is better anyway, people call him out, SoJ punces in defense and on and on.

One of the other techs where I work is a big time Bama fan, and he's VERY happy Dick Rod passed on the job the year before.

au contraire - it is Urban's proposed leave of absence that makes RR the perfect choice. What other coach would be primed for termination after only one or two years when Meyer is ready to return?

Don't care which side of this argument you are on, you must admit: the man has a point. :wink2:

I've looked all over for news or updates but I couldn't find anything. None of the Michigan blogs/forums/websites provide any information on this, so I figured I'd ask you guys...

Anyone know how Michigan's bowl prep is going? How are practices? Are they looking forward to their big game?

It's good to be a Michigan Wolverine when you're all in for Michigan.

I think that they are filming 22 guys, one bowl.
