2009 TSUN arguments, shenanigans (not football)

Most folks around here can't wait for next season after that bowl performance. Not me, I'm eagerly anticipating the um spring game.

Few things in life give me more joy than watching the coner run the option.

There is some begrudging respect being payed on most scUM boards this morning. Some, there are still idiots blaming it on Oregon "not being that good". But, even when respect is being payed, there's a lot of "congrats on finally winning a bowl game". Um, excuse me? Three years isn't exactly an eternity. These fucksticks need to read up on their own bowl history. They lost four in a row from '03-'06 and their deity, Bo, went 0-7 in Bowl Games in the '70's...their supposed "glory years".

Yeah, I like how Oregon is now not that good. In their wildest wet fucking dreams, Michigan fans want their offense to resemble that, and what happened to Oregon?

Speaking of high-octane spread/read-option/zone-read offenses, how are Miami, Oregon, Cincinnati, Oklahoma State, Arizona, Houston, West Virginia, Oregon State, etc..., all feeling now? Every single one this bowl season: Shutdown.

No, no, no, no...none of them ever said that. :roll1:

Yep. scUM hitched it's trailer to that bandwagon just in time for powerhouse teams to start catching up to it. How do you neutralize a spread offense? Recruit bruisers up front to disrupt the backfield and speed at LB and in the defensive backfield to make the stops in space. The blueprint has been drawn and big time programs (including tOSU) are using it. It still rings true...defenses win championships.

That Millbury_Mullet character in this thread might be the biggest dope in the history of dopes. Seriously, if you have five minutes, read his [censored]. What a complete, and I mean COMPLETE, moron. :slappy:

That guy is a [censored]ing idiot.....

Wouldn't beat TCU or Cincy...

The deep end is pretty deep...

Also looks like the scUM faithful have come to terms with RR and his 'offense'. They know they can't beat us with his midgets running around, and that awful defense. Problem is, with the way he has recruited on the D side of the ball they're fucked for awhile. If the next coach bring in a pro style system, what is he gonna go with all the midgets?

So I clicked the link and read the thread. Same old, same old.

Ohio State is the best team in a bad conference, so winning the conference title isn't that big a deal until Michigan gets back. Yet they still refuse to acknowledge that the only reason people interpret the Big Ten as being "down" is because their own sorry ass team is the one losing to 1-AA squads and MAC teams, plays no defense, and can't win their BCS games.

Oh, and isn't Oregon the team that positively shredded these clowns in 2007 on their own field right after App St skullfucked them in the opener? Yes. Yes, I believe it is. 39-7.

Couldn't play defense then, and they play even worse defense now.

Any comments on the OSU vs. UO game?

There's enough circular logic in his posts to power a centrifuge.

He did finally send me a PM asking me to please end the debate. :)

There a few Michigan fans that didn't really care about the Oregon/Ohio State outcome. My friend and I talked about this and we both agree that it didn't matter who won that game or by how much. I really don't give a damn if Ohio State loses or wins all their games (Of course there is one game that I always want them to lose). Why?........How does this have anything to do with Michigan? True Michigan fans need to get back on focusing on our team and worry less about what Ohio State, ND, etc are doing.

I have always said Michigan needs to hire a defensive minded coach. Nebraska is a damn good example. Their previous coach had that team scoring 40-50 points in some games. The bad news is they were giving up 60+. Pelini comes in and has that team on the rise and they could have easily went 12-1. They lost some heart breakers but that defense as a whole is amazing. That defense should be one of the top defenses in the country next year. Iowa is another example. Not a great offense but a damn good defense with players playing above their potential. They don't have the talent like Ohio St, Penn St, etc but the focus is on the defense and it got them a BCS bowl game and came a hair from winning the big ten.

I think Michigan has at least some decent talent on that team and has players that other top schools in the country wanted......but they just aren't producing. The desire just doesn't seem to be there. The old Michigan defenses in the past used to scare the [censored] out of opposing teams...now it seems teams can't wait to play them. DEFENSE!!!!! Get this [censored]ing coach out of Michigan and hire somebody that puts most of his focus on Defense and Special teams. Get back to a pro style offense so top players around the country can come to Michigan. Michigan has always been known for their receivers and "used" to be one of the best of sending them to the NFL. Get back to the Jake Longs, the Steve Hutchinson, and the David Baas. Michigan didn't need an overhaul. They just needed something fresh and a few minor changes. Michigan can get back to being Michigan, they just need somebody that knows what the [censored] they are doing.
