2009 NCAA Basketball Tournament

not ouch....this is a great first round match-up for the Bucks. I was expecting an 8-9 match-up with the likes of a BC, USC, etc...

We get Sienna, in Dayton, where we will have a shitload of fans.

We're more talented, and will have a home court edge.

Unfortunately, if we win that game, we get the exact type of team we will struggle horribly with. A high pressure team, without a confident PG is scary. Louisville presses all agme, and puts a ton of pressure on your ball handlers...our biggest weakness.

I just want a carck at them though....

We match up good against Louisville compared to any other #1 team by far. They cant shoot the ball that well and rely on dribble penetration to score. Their press is good but I dont mind Turner handling the ball against them. I think we have a good chance considering we will have a great crowd since it's in Dayton.

Mixed feelings about our seed. I thought we might get a 7, but that's not really a big deal. On the one hand, it's great that we basically get two home games (if we get to the second round), but Sienna is going to be a tough match up. I'd anticipated quite possibly making them a sweet 16 team. And then, if we get by them, we get to face probably the best team in the country, IMO.

Siena played a couple big names this year.

Lost by 14 to Tennessee in the Old Spice Classic.
Lost by 9 to Oklahoma State
Lost by 13 @ Pittsburgh
Lost by 7 @ Kansas

Up against Louisville in the 2nd round is tough, but playing in Dayton is great!

We're not in the second round, yet. Siena plays up tempo and shoots threes. They're a 9 seed out of a small conference for a reason.

Like playing on Friday in Dayton, though. :)

any team that presses and puts massive pressure on your PG is a tough match-up. Louisville does it better than anyone, so I'm on the opposite side of the fence on this one. Plus they have some very good perimeter shooters, and Rick Pitino is a master at breaking zone defenses.

Regardless, I just want a shot, and think our seeding is fair. Getting a first round game in Dayton is great, and huge benefit to the Bucks vs. Siena. If we are good enough to get Louisville, I'm not confident, but you never know...maybe they go cold, and Jeremie/PJ are goodenough to break the press.

For sure. I'm certainly not counting game 1 as a win, just noting that a possible 2nd round match-up with #1 overall seed is tough.
