2009 NCAA Basketball Tournament

This is one of the worst jobs by the committee in quite some time. It is a fucking joke the way they seeded the Big-10 and Pac-10. Arizona getting in is a disgrace. Washington a #4 in Portland? These people deserve the same type of criticism the BCS gets.

Temple, Miss State and USC killed Saint Mary's, San Diego State and Penn State.

We got 7, but 3 are lower seeds expected to lose in round one.

Arizona won TWO road games all year, and lost 13 games, yet they got a bid. :ohwell:

Why in the FUCK did Uofeh get in the tournament? They didn't do shit all year!!! They beat Kansas and Gonzaga early in the year. They lost 5 of their last 6 games or something like that. Lute Olsen must have smoked some poles or something to get them in. This is fucking ridiculous. They aren't making it next year for sure. They haven't had a recruiting class in like 3 years due to the Lute Olsen debacle. Now I'm fucking pissed ASU lost to USC yesterday. Fuck the NCAA committee - they're worse than Big-10 basketball refs or Pac-10 football officiating.

Illinois plays Western Kentucky in North Carolina.

I think WKU will beat them, too.

Purdue plays Northern Iowa.

EDIT: You're looking at the second round. Gotcha.

The first round game for Illinois is also in Portland.

I don't have a problem with the Big Ten getting 7, Penn St's non-conf schedule was a joke.

And Illinois and Purdue as 5's is OK, although Purdue could have got a 4 after winning the tourney (Syracuse jumped to a 3 as a runner-up).

But having both Illinois and Purdue face teams (in possible 4-5 matchups) from Washington in Portland (right across the Columbia River from Washington) is a screw-job.

is anyone else baffled by this comment that it isn't about one team, it is about a group of teams on the bubble??

Is he implying that it is about logistics vs. quality resume. I'm just confused. Why isn't it on a case vs. case basis??

I made a vBet on tOSU's seed almost 3 weeks ago.

It takes a while to create vBet and determine fair odds - and then to be fair to everybody, we want to have at least a couple of days for a vBet like that to be open.

We don't usually throw vbets together quickly in order to have less than an hour to have the bet open. Also, there needs to be a pre-determined time for the vbet to close. If it were open when the bid is announced, many folks try to cash in on free money.

Keep watching this forum, there will be a ton of vBets set up today and tomorrow.

Yeah I saw it way down the list. I actually made a bet on it but it was so long ago I forgot. :!

Dookie V is taking on Jay Bilas and I agree with him. Arizona getting in ahead of Saint Mary's is a joke, but Digger just LOVES Arizona.

For the youngsters out there, Dickie V was the coach of the Detroit University Titans in the 70s, and they had some very good teams. He knows what it is like to try and schedule the big boys, and being denied.

BTW, I will be rooting like hell for Wiscy, Minny and even scUM in the first round. They are lower seeds versus 2 ACC teams and Texas. Fuck 'em!

With all the yapping out of guys like Digger and Hubert, I want to see the Big Ten make a statement. Those 3 double digit seeds winning out of the gate, along with us of course, would be a big STFU to the talking heads.

how can you even attempt to justify Arizona getting in?

finished 5th in a weak pac 10, had 13 losses (compared to St Marys 6)

they lost 4 out of their lost 5 regular season games and lost the first game in their conference tourney

and they were 2-9 on the road....

I feel bad for Hubert....over the last week he called all of these teams into the tournament:

Penn State
St. Mary's
Florida
Auburn
Kentucky
Virginia Tech
Cincinnati

I'm probabaly leaving out 3 or 4 more.....if only it was an 80 team field Huey.....

I honestly won't be surprised if both of them lose in the first round, especially Illinois. I agree the location is unfair in round two, though.

Then again, Louisville fans could gripe about a potential second round matchup with Ohio State in Dayton, OH.

They suck and I hope Utah bounces them in the first round. They shouldn't have made the tournament last year, but they did, and now they make it again this year!!! I call Bullshit!!!
