2009 NCAA Basketball Tournament

For sure. I'm certainly not counting game 1 as a win, just noting that a possible 2nd round match-up with #1 overall seed is tough.

I think Louisville is a very tough matchup for us, but we knew we were going to be a 7 or 8 so the second round (potential) matchup was going to be tough.

I had no championship expectations for this year's team. If we beat Siena and get a crack at Louisville anything else is gravy for me. :)

Someone post a VBet on the Buckeyes' seed or seeds and number of Big10 teams.

I made a vBet on tOSU's seed almost 3 weeks ago.

It takes a while to create vBet and determine fair odds - and then to be fair to everybody, we want to have at least a couple of days for a vBet like that to be open.

We don't usually throw vbets together quickly in order to have less than an hour to have the bet open. Also, there needs to be a pre-determined time for the vbet to close. If it were open when the bid is announced, many folks try to cash in on free money.

Keep watching this forum, there will be a ton of vBets set up today and tomorrow.

Temple, Miss State and USC killed Saint Mary's, San Diego State and Penn State.

We got 7, but 3 are lower seeds expected to lose in round one.

Arizona won TWO road games all year, and lost 13 games, yet they got a bid. :ohwell:

Illinois and Purdue both face 4-5 matchups in Portland, Oregon against teams from the state of Washington.

Thanks, Committee.

Illinois plays Western Kentucky in North Carolina.

I think WKU will beat them, too.

Purdue plays Northern Iowa.

EDIT: You're looking at the second round. Gotcha.

FYI, there's an individual game thread for tOSU-Siena.

Let's put specific game discussion in there, this thread should be for general discussion about the tournament.

I will soon have individual threads for each region, with odds on each team on winning its region.

Jake, I don't think Illinois is at a huge disadvantage playing in Greensboro. Western Kentucky is a long trip so it's not much of a geographical advantage. I think Illinois wins that game....

I'm really liking Arizona State against Syracuse in the second round though. Tough defense and fundamental basketball has a way of frustrating Cuse' and their wide-open play.
