2009 NCAA Basketball Tournament

Then there's a day of bitching and whining for the teams that didn't get in. After that, they move on and talk about something important, like who's going to win that ridiculous 'play-in' game, for the right to be annihilated by somebody like North Carolina. :tongue2:

Shame on you!

It is not a 'play in' game, even though it sure looks like one. Any talking head will tell you those teams are in the tournament, and whoever wins gets one in the books.

Sure, it only exists to give the big conferences one more at large berth, but isn't it nice to let the little guys pretend they actually won an NCAA tournament game?

It's a big fucking joke and has been ever since they initiated it.

And wouldn't you pay money to see a guy on tv blurt that out just once? I know I would. That would be awesome.

They've got a camera crew and fans at Crisler Arena in AA. It will particularly amusing if UM doesn't get selected.

Do you think the Commitee tips some schools off, so they can get a pep rally/crowd going. Correct me if I'm wrong but I dont remember seeing a scene like that and the bubble bursting!

First thing: outside of the selection show, I highly recommend turning away from the analysts. Every year I tell myself I won't listen to their analysis, but it always influences my bracket, and generally your own instincts are right.

There will be a lot of Big 10 bashing. Nobody believes we should be the #2 RPI conference, but we are, and we will have at least 6 teams, maybe 7 in the field. A bubble team that doesn't get in, will then target the Big 10 for having 6 or more teams. It will be annoying.

Last, regardless of the brakets, this will be one of the most wide-open fields of all time. No clear-cut favorites. I'd say Carolina is probably the bes team in the country if they're at their best, but they are hit and miss. IMO, there are going to be a ton of upsets, and very little difference between the upper seeds, and 10 - 11 seeds. I think I'm hoping for a crazy tournament with tons of upsets and crazy match-ups. Let's see a 16 seed make a scare...
