Adrian Branch just surprised me. They set him up for the Big Ten bashing but he took it the other way. He said we beat each other up and our teams will be glad to see someone else. He likes Wisconsin's chances against Florida State (me too) and Michigan's shot at Clemson.

Clemson beat Duke, then lost 6 of their last 10 games including losses to Virginia and Georgia Tech. Michigan beat UCLA and Duke, but finished 5-5 with a loss to Iowa. Depends on which team shows up.

I've seen Clemson lay eggs in March too often to assume they can't lose to anyone. They blew an 18 point lead in the first round last year.

The games against Duke and UCLA probably got sCum into the NCAA but I don't think they are an indicator of how good a basketball team the weasels have plus UCLA has not been the team everyone thought it was going to be.

Utah State?s mascot benched after fracas with foe

(AP)?Utah State benched its mascot for Saturday night?s championship game between the Aggies and Nevada a day after ?Big Blue? the bull and New Mexico State?s ?Pistol Pete? got physical with each other near the end of a semifinal matchup in the Western Athletic Conference basketball tourney.
During a timeout with 7 seconds left and NMSU leading Utah State 70-69, Big Blue confronted the cowboy mascot and ripped off his fake mustache after a man wearing a Nevada shirt at the game offered $100 to the student in the costume modeled after Paul Bunyan?s Blue Ox if he would do so.
The cowboy then chased the bull to half court, jumped on his back and tried unsuccessfully to pull him to the floor. He then started to try to choke his rival before retreating to his end of the court. Moments later, Utah State?s Tyler Newbold hit a 15-foot shot with 3.1 seconds remaining to defeat NMSU 71-70.

I wanted to take Purdue over UConn, but I bailed out of that because Purdue's probable second-round game vs. Washington is in Portland, Oregon.

Some of the 'experts' think the tough matchup for Memphis will be Mizzou, rather than UConn.

i don't know how i slept on mizzou. i didn't realize they were playing so well lately.

has anyone noticed how the 11 seeds are better than almost all the 6 seeds?

i've got VCU and Utah St. Temple has a shot at ASU, but WVU is the best of the lot.

See, I solved that problem with Mississippi State beating Washington in the 1st round in alot of my brackets :biggrin:

So, looks like a boring slate of 1st session games this afternoon. This just screams crazy upsets and great finishes!
