I'd take Crouch over Nesbitt in a heartbeat. Crouch is in the top 5 worst winners though.

As for Ware, he's a giant douche who played in a gimmick offense but I think I'd still rank him over Nesbitt.

Nesbitt can run the triple-O beautifully but his passing is bad. Really bad. He will luck his way into a great throw once every 5 games or so but other than that it's downright laughable.

I didn't say Nesbitt should win it, just that he should be under consideration at this point. You're comparing him to guys that actually won the award, so those choices are rather easy.

Robert Smith listed his Heisman top-5 today:
1. Keenum
2. Ingram
3. Tebow
4. McCoy
5. Nesbitt (the first time I've seen him mentioned as a candidate outside this thread)

Nesbitt may be a little under 50% as a passer, but he's averaging 11.6 yards per attempt (yes, per attempt, not per completion). Despite how bad you may think he 'looks', Ga. Tech leads the ACC in passing efficiency.

He's got 19 combined rushing and passing TD, with only 3 picks. He's averaging 6.70 yards per offensive play (Tebow's at 18/4 and 6.42; McCoy's at 16/8 and 6.13).

And that doesn't account for the fact that he gets no statistical credit for making decisions and option pitches on a team with over 300 yards rushing per game, while other QBs rack up yards on bubble screens.

I can't tell if I would be happy with Mallet winning on the Heisman. On the one hand, he's a cocky, arrogant, QB who voluntarily chose to go to scUM.

On the other hand, it would be hilarious to see the scUM faithful's reaction to RR's driving him out of Ann Arbor...

Same thoughts as me, but he was smart enough to leave scUM.

Colt McCoy threw for 470 yards today, so that'll keep people talking about him.

Jesse Palmer is hyping Shipley - it's just an evil plan to split the Texas vote in order to help Tebow. :wink2:

I like Shipley, hes been very good this season, not heisman worthy, but who else has been to this point this year?

Might as well put his name up there.

Shipley's got 75 catches for 1050 yards and 6 TD's, plus 2 punt return TD's.

If he gets to the endzone more often in the next couple weeks, I would give him my vote.

With nobody in the BCS conferences truly standing out, I think the "most outstanding player" has been Keenum. He'd get my vote.

His campaign got helped by a successful onside kick and a 51-yard FG as time expired today, to keep them ranked fairly high. That stuff matters more than it should to the voters.
