2009 Heisman Trophy discussion

Those searching for Heisman candidates should look at Josh Nesbitt from Georgia Tech. They now are in control in the ACC, and now have an outside shot at the BCS Title game.

His passing stats are limited, but the way he runs the option makes that team go.

My Heisman candidates as of today (not in order):

Jimmy Clausen
Case Keenum
Josh Nesbitt
Bill Stull
Kellen Moore
Mark Ingram
Noel Devine
Dion Lewis
Toby Gerhart
Ndamakong Suh

Should NOT be in the top 5 on anybody's list that's looking only at 2009:
Tim Tebow: (only 8 TD passes, with 4 picks, 2 of those pick-6s. Counting his lost fumbles, he has more turnovers than combined rushing and passing TDs in his 5 conference games)

Colt McCoy: He finally had a good game tonight, but his TDs (passing and rushing are only a little bigger than his turnovers, counting his fumbles)

Nesbitt would be the worst winner in the history of the award outside of Hornung, IMO.

There are no worse winners than these two fuckers.

Ugh. Almost every picture of Howard is of him striking the pose against OSU. I just can't bring myself to post that shit. :bonk:

Hey, if folks are so desperate for a Heisman candidate as to drool all over Claussen, why not push Ryan Mallett a bit of love. He's made Arkansas into a competitor.

This is a good point. Clausen has 10% better completion percentage, but has same TDs, Sacks, and 1 less INT. Then again, Mallett plays in the SEC, so you should really double his stats cause of all that speed he has to play against :wink2:

Crouch, Eric

Ware, Andre

I'd take Crouch over Nesbitt in a heartbeat. Crouch is in the top 5 worst winners though.

As for Ware, he's a giant douche who played in a gimmick offense but I think I'd still rank him over Nesbitt.

Nesbitt can run the triple-O beautifully but his passing is bad. Really bad. He will luck his way into a great throw once every 5 games or so but other than that it's downright laughable.
