Cool :) I must have missed that post the first time (though I see it now).

Hopefully LJB will add me to the pollster list, then.
Consider yourself a BP pollster - see the initial post of this thread for voting "rules".

My email couldn't be delivered - did LJB change jobs this year?
LJB is self-employed. No, I did not fire myself. My email provider decided to change its name (from Alltel to Windstream), which has been a royal pain in the ass.

ONE MORE NOTE: I have no problem if you decide to post your ballot in this thread, but please send it to me by PM as well. Thanks.

top 5? really?
i would LOVE for us to be top 5, but I think we have too many questions that need answering before ranking us that high.

will we see the Jordan Jefferson from the Peach Bowl?
or the Jordan Jefferson that couldn't complete 50% of his passes against Ole Piss and Arkansas?

And does Chavis return our defense to what it was when Pellini and Muschamp were here? or do we still suck in this department. (and by suck, I mean better than anything in the Big 12, but still really, really, really shitty)

I hate giving the dirt burglars props on anything but that [censored]ty big 12 defense held florida to less than LSU, Georgia, South Carolina, or Alabama.

BTW, you mention how great Muschamp and Pelini were...any idea what conference those two are in now?

-5 more teams to watch out for: South Florida (they could play their JV scout team and go 3-0 to start the season, and they have a SR QB and a powerful defense in a weak Big East), Northwestern (Fitzy has them playing well, and they have some leadership on D), Houston (piling up the points in C-USA), NC State (up and coming in the deep ACC), BYU (always good, but a brutal NC schedule)

-Virginia Tech will be solid, but they took a hit because they lost their top RB for the season in my poll, which means they could take a significant loss on opening day

-I think Oklahoma State could be really good, but I'm not buying the Mississippi force-feeding at all

-I think Notre Dame and Pittsburgh could tally a bunch of wins because of their schedules, but until either beats a team that matters this year, I don't see them as good enough to be ranked teams

i know where they are now.
I also know that neither of them had impressive defenses last year.
Both are tremendous defensive coaches, and I expect them to both to get their defenses up near the top.
But neither one did that last year.

Our D was so pathetic, we replaced our DC.
Texas promoted Muschamp to HC in waiting.

LSU defense = #32 in country last year
Texas defense = # 51 in country

Those defensive rankings you posted just proved my point though. Stats mean nothing. OU's defense was rated lower than Texas' and LSU's yet they still managed to hold Florida to much less than LSU did (you still have not addressed this point). Those stats are meaningless when you are lining up to play the game. I'm not saying our defense was the best ever last year but it did lead the nation in sacks and anyone who watched Texas in 07 and 08 clearly saw the difference Muschamp made. He has us going in the right direction and that's all we can ask for at the moment.
