2008 U.S. Open at Torrey Pines

I think until Phil figures out his long ball with the driver, he won't contend for the bigger tourneys. This aspect of his game is just crap right now. He is having to depend on his short game way too much. As soon as he figures out his driver and can hit the fairways 75%+, he won't have to hit his 3rd shot out of a green side bunker or rough. Then we will see him in his regular play.

Tiger comes back from surgery and he's right in the hunt. He's in fifth place, but he's never come from behind on the last day to win a major, so he needs to make a move today or have the leader fall back to him.

So he eagles 13 with a ridiculously long downhill putt with a perfect read and speed. Unreal.

its tough to beat someone who pulls eagles and one hop chip ins out of his ass (or from 50 yards left of the fairway). especially when that "someone" is tiger. i hope he does this stuff tomorrow and gets beat. he deserves it

Well, just as he has never come from behind to win a major on Sunday he's also never given one away when he has the lead going into Sunday. While I get a little nauseous hearing the jock sniffers yell "get in the hole" every time he swings his club the dude is an amazing golfer.

I noticed Steve didn't get 3 other caddies together and carry him off the 18th green into a waiting wheelchair. :wink2:

There just isn't anything left to say about Tiger. I tell my kids to just enjoy what you are seeing.

Most incredible golf I have seen since one of Nicklaus' charges.

I have been pulling for Rocco and even though he wanted to play with Tiger he got a gift. Woods intimidated him from a hole in front. If Rocco can relax and keep on having fun he has a great chance - because I don't think Tiger can finish in good form if at all.

In any case it would be nice to see someone from the US win the US Open for a change.

eh, jack was in the top 10 for every major in the 70s except five. he hasnt won majors in his 40s. one at 47.

time will tell...

but that has the possibility to be something special...

If you are talking about Jack he won three in his 40's. The 1980 U.S. Open and PGA Championships as well as the 1986 Masters when he was 46....

If Tigers knee holds up and he doesn't have any more injuries then it is a matter of time before he breaks Jack's record of 18 professional majors. I just don't see anybody on the tour that will regularly challenge him, like Palmer, Trevino, Player and Watson did to Nicklaus.....
