But the man is amazing. That putt in and of itself was not that big a deal. But in the context of what was happening and in the context of what he had already done it was legendary.
If this were the NBA I would swear the fix was in.
TV takes a hit for keeping the camera on Tiger, Tiger, Tiger. But what other golfer can you focus the camera on and have him deliver? He is absolutely, positively freakin' unreal. The distance between Tiger and the next best in his game is unparalleled in sports.
I grew up on Jack Nicklaus and I never thought I would see anyone comparable. Hate Tiger if you must, but appreciate what he does because someday it will be over and you may never see the like again.
This is one of the best posts that I've ever seen in the 5 years that I've frequented this site.
Tiger Woods is so easy to hate, I guess, because, he's just that damn good. Everybody loves the underdog, and in the game of golf as we've seen it the past 10 years , the entire field is the underdog when Mr. Woods hits the tee. He is sick beyond belief. This kid is looking at that putt on 18 today, and did anybody out there actually expect the ball to go anywhere except in the hole?
There are so many great players out there today, and for one man to dominate the way that Tiger has is simply mind-boggling. I think BB73 should set up a V-Bet right now , that will pay off in 92 years. Because, in my honest opinion, when they start talking about the most "dominant" athlete of the 21st Century in the year 2100, I say Tiger wins it hands down.
Got my V-$ on the "Field" for tomorrow, and what a great story it would be for Rocco to pull this off, which I believe he can if he plays "Torrey" and not "Tiger." Rocco can play his game and beat the golf course. He can't play against Tiger straight up and expect to win. Do what he did today, and he'll be the US Open Champ. That's a helluva lot easier said than done.
Peace.
