2008 U.S. Open at Torrey Pines

If you are talking about Jack he won three in his 40's. The 1980 U.S. Open and PGA Championships as well as the 1986 Masters when he was 46....

If Tigers knee holds up and he doesn't have any more injuries then it is a matter of time before he breaks Jack's record of 18 professional majors. I just don't see anybody on the tour that will regularly challenge him, like Palmer, Trevino, Player and Watson did to Nicklaus.....
very possible/likey. if it happens. but im not one who puts the cart in front of the ox.

I am not a HUGE fan of Tiger, I like him but I root for Lefty. But anywyas he is going to be the best golfer to ever play the game when his career is done and over with. Look at what he has done for the game of golf already...it's awesome

Crossing my fingers that he doesn't get cut down in his prime. He's already ATLEAST the second greatest golfer of all-time in most minds, and if he were to retire or rapidly decline due to injury, it'd be a classic tale of "what could have been". He's the greatest and most dominating athlete I've ever seen or heard of. Just ridiculous.

Dos Equis is a great beer, very smooth.

What channel is the tourney on right now? I can't find it. I would like to switch back and forth between this and Euro 2008 on ESPN2

eh... if i'm drinking mexican piss i prefer Corona:biggrin:

A number of the Mexican beers, or piss as you suggest, rate quite well against the best beers of the world. This is the first Mexican beer that I've put in my kegerator. The house standard is Boddingtons on a CO2 / Nitrogen beer gas mix in the warm months and Guiness in the cold. I've run Fullers ESB (on beer gas) as well. The Fullers was a difficult keg to get through. HIGH alcohol content and very heavy to drink made it a long fall last year. Good thing the wife likes high IBU beers!

While I respect your opinion, as it really is a matter of taste, I have to disagree with your position. Especially on the Dos lager. Lagers tend to be far more difficult to brew than ales, and in my opinion the Dos Equis lager stands VERY tall.

1. Corona
2. Dos Equis

Those are the ONLY 2 beers from Mexico I will drink

Wow... give some of those other beers a chance. You'll be SHOCKED.

no Pacifico?

what about Negra Modelo?

... for example, see the two suggestions above. Trouble is getting Mexican beers (in general) in kegs. It is either not possible or very difficult even if they are available. When's the last time you had a Corona on tap? Yeah, me either :(.

you poor soul, you live a sheltered life.

I don't know that I'd go that far to say sheltered... Personally, I know a lot of people who really like Sol, but for my tastes it lacks the bite that I want from a summer beer. But it's all personal taste, right? Still better to be drinking fresh beer off a tap in the basement than anything in a bottle.

Most incredible golf I have seen since one of Nicklaus' charges.

I have been pulling for Rocco and even though he wanted to play with Tiger he got a gift. Woods intimidated him from a hole in front. If Rocco can relax and keep on having fun he has a great chance - because I don't think Tiger can finish in good form if at all.

I have to agree. I am not shy to admit that I am a Tiger fan. I love Lefty as well. I just really enjoy great golf. But what we saw during the back nine on Saturday from Tiger was inspired. He may be spraying it all over the course from the tee box, but his will to get it done ranks as high in that category as anyone I've ever seen. I would put '02 CK in the MNCG and this performance on equal footing.

I also have been a fan of Rocco's for a long, long time. Well before he stepped in the booth, which is where most folks first got a sample of his humor, I was following his career. The people I know in golf all have very nice things to say about him and I've only ever heard him say something unflattering about another player once in his entire career. That was a comment about Michelle Wie taking up spots from guys tyring to make a living on the tour. Given where he's ranked over the years on the money list... I think that he was basically saying, "this sideshow is taking food off my table," so I can let that slide.

I hear, but have not seen tape, that he snuck into the press tent last night while Tiger was talking to to the press. Apparently he got Tigers attention and asked him something to the effect of, "What are you doing out there? Are you insane?" or something like that. Here's a link: Rocco Mediate has ‘crazy’ idea at U.S. Open - BostonHerald.com. It had to have brought down the house. He's just a damn funny guy with a super personality to boot. I only wish that I could be either that funny or have that kind of personality. But to have both? He's been blessed. I wish nothing but the best for him. And today, Tiger fan aside, I will be pulling for the 45 year old man from PA.

In any case it would be nice to see someone from the US win the US Open for a change.

Sarcasm font broken? Seriously, if not Rocco and then if not Tiger... don't care who it is that wins this in so long as they have the stars and stripes next to thier name. Been to, and have watched on TV too many Frick'n Ryder Cups to root for any of those frick'n lime-eating-white-pants-wearing-addidas-sporting-tight-pink-shirt-strutting-cow-pasture-playing-be-o-tches. Hell, I almost didn't buy my wife a set of Mizuno clubs two years ago because Luke Donald is one of their primary pimps! Mizuno's only saving grace on that sale is that he played a Northwestern.

Tiger's gotta hate that first hole with a passion...he's about to make double bogey again lol

Yep, he looked like me on that one. :wink2:
He had the lead for one hole, now he's chasing Mediate. Rocco is playing very well and Tiger's already limping. And now he's 2 back of Rocco, and 1 of Westwood. It may be too much to expect, even of Tiger, for him to pull this one out. His knee is obviously not back to full health, and it won't get better walking all over the course.

This should be interesting. :pimp:
