April 24 - Newsome commits to Michigan.

April 29 - Beaver commits to Michigan. This irks some in the Newsome camp.

Early may - McNeal verbals to Michigan.

May - Beaver and McNeal reportedly grow close and are both actively recruiting for Michigan. Even if Newsome isn't coming, UM fans can rest assured that these two will be wolverines.

Aug - Newsome officially decommits.

Oct - McNeal decommits from UM, in part because of the lackluster passing game. He may be choosing Minnesota over Michigan.

Nov - Decommitment & transfer rumors abound. Barnes decommits to look at Purdue/OkState. Graves and Jones remain committed but are wavering. Beaver denies rumors about him decommitting.

Dec - Newsome verbals to Penn State.

Dec - Beaver sends Wolverine Nation into an uproar over an ominous myspace message where he was unsure about Michigan. He denies that he even has such a profile or that he is decommitting, and soon after it disappears.

Today - Decommits from UM, commits to Tulsa, and announces it in their newspaper.

On a different note, I would LOVE to have Turner decommit for us... That would be icing on the cake.

Also, does this mean they'll go after Boyd? I hope not...

That didn't take long. Bad news guys.

They are going to come after Boyd now.


General theme - Beaver is a liar. Who wants a liar?

Secondary theme - he is afraid of the competition with Forcier - who committed in August.

On second thought I am glad he is not coming. Because if he were to play here, he would have done just enough to get our juices flowing and get excited. Then after the season he would say that he has family issues and needs to transfer back home so he can take care of his mom and sister. This way we cut to the chase and dont have to waste each others time.

No signs of that so far, and there wasn't a lot of mutual interest before. Not sure there's time to rebuild that bridge.

Its bad when your losing comitts to Tulsa but um fans can't seem to shake their arrogance. Both Newsome and and Beaver left because of Tate according to them. Read the threads its almost like 3-9 never happened. Maybe if their lucky they will meet up with Tulsa in the next four years in some pre-xmas bowl. And Tate= the qb version of McGuffie he'll get destroyed running a lot has a true freshman plus all the sacks.
