So, not sure how this all started, but I met a local scUM fan today while out at lunch with some friends.

The guy, needless to say - is much like a good portion of their fanbase... I don't mean that in a good way. He feels that now RR has brought the triple option/zone read, they'll be simply amazing. He also believes that since they return 7/11 starters on defense they'll be one of the best (if not the best) unit in the country; top that off, he thinks Trent Morgan is (quote) "shutdown corner" and better than Jenkins.

He said "we'll beat the Buckeyes this year". I asked why. He pointed out our inability to stop the spread offense (apparently forgetting his own teams problems with said scheme) citing Florida, Illnois and LSU. Of course I tried to correct him saying that LSU was generally a pro-style offense, with some zone read, and pistol formations. He immediately said I needed to "learn my shit" and that the pistol is a part of the spread. Naturally I gave him some facts regarding how the HB lines up behind the QB, and that the shotgun is simply a modified version of this..... no no no, I'm wrong, I'm wrong.

Pointing out scUM superior recruiting, talented young players - and that "now RR has 4 and 5 star prospects, he will be very successful, even in his first year".

According to this genius, Aside from Wisconsin and MAYBE Penn State (he feels their due) they won't lose a game outside of those two. He even gave me reasons why they'll be us. Something along the lines of RR being in his first year much like Tressel was, that RR is just as great of a coach... yada yada BS... yak yak.

He's so confident their offense and defense will be so overpowering, he went as far as to give me this little wager...

(IF) M**higan wins only 9 games or less this year, he buys me a bowl ticket of my choosing (BCS title baby!) If they (won't) win 10 games or more, I buy him a ticket of his choosing.

So, unless scUM wins at least 10 games, looks like I'll be joining my brethren in Miami. Should the unthinkable happen, I'll kill myself as the funds are being sent through paypal.

Just thought I'd share some of the mentality the fans from TSUN seem to possess.

I'm surprised they haven't brought up Morgan Trent at QB. With that 4.13 speed (:slappy:), he could beat everybody to the edge and be gone before anyone could lay a hand on him.

The hilarious thing, Feagin was reported @ a 4.6. Are you serious? I ran damn near that (estimated 4.55 from the 4.x1 from track) and I played corner in high school....

These are the athletes RR has to work with this year, and like I said, I stand firmly behind my 6-5 prediction.

Hope you got this bet insured with Lloyds of London. My guess is that when scUM doesn't win those 10 games you'll never see his ass (or any of his money) again.

The kid (Feagin) was projected as a safety by the recruiting services. Granted, pat White was seen as a CB by most, but one has to wonder if that success hasn't gone to DR's head and now he thinks he can plug anybody in that position.

To be fair, Michigan fans have been known to be right on the mark with their predictions in the past.

Already got all of his information, he mentioned something about putting it in writing - but I told him I'm a man of my word. The great thing, he lives just across town from me... small world.
