So give me the updated version of who we are supposed to be scared of now please, I don't follow recruiting much.

I know they will have a name, it will be a QB who can run RR's offense, the hype will begin and he will be better than Pryor by next Sep.

Is this Forcier guy the one?

I hope so because the 70's porn movies with 2 guys named Dick Rod and Tate Forcier jokes are already spinning in my head.

Last weak it was Beaver and Eugene Smith.

I found it. More scUM fan delusion.

Forcier is now the most polished and college ready QB in the nation. Newsome was a project. Nevermind that the staff wanted the Newsome kid and fell back to Forcier once Newsome decommitted.

Waiting patiently for the first mention of how much better Barwis will make him.

Re: Welcome Tate

I used to not like Tate very much because I thought he was too cocky, now i realize its just a huge amount of confidence. Anyone who loves Michigan is good in my book

Classic.

I know there is a post out there somewhere that reads:

"I used to think RR was an obnoxious bore who lied, cheated and stole to benefit himself. Now I realize it is just his way of building a loving family and doing what is best for the team."

And I'll bet whenever you quote such a "change of opinion", it's the same person every time.

as in the same people flip flopping? They turned on Newsome pretty fast, now he's running away looking to avoid competition (which is why he's favoring UNC & VT, who have returning starters and others to compete with).

Tate was tagged by many as another potential Ryan M a few months ago. There were still some who liked his more polished passing ability, but there were a lot of question marks about his attitude according to posters. Those have all but disappeared now, with Newsome being the 'flagged' one. Perhaps you're right, but it's far too rampant.

And this is hardly a UM commentary, I'd expect this from most OSU scout free boards.

Yeah, exactly. I would bet a lot of what Jax calls the fanbase in general is one person being happy about Newsome and then another being happy about Forcier and criticizing Newsome. ('Course, I'm one of those flip-floppers who's happy with either, so just call me John Kerry. We got a quarterback, is there really going to be a world of difference between the two?)

(as for Newsome, I still say he's not going to VT. I'm staying out on that limb. Call me crazy. And UNC has a sophomore quarterback in place now, so if Newsome goes there he'd have two years after Yates leaves, three if he redshirts.)

Perhaps, but it's a lot more widespread than a few isolated cases.

Yes. But at this point I'd put them in the same ballpark in terms of excitement for UM fans. Tate brings a little more polish, a little less upside and size, but will could UM avoid a second straight year of limited QB play. (best case scenario, if Tate develops quickly). Beaver brings a lot more athleticism, natural fit in RR's scheme, and a bit more potential imo, but will have rough growing pains if he's the starter next year.

From that perspective, Tate could help out a lot, simply because he should be more prepared than the others. (at the HS level, of course)

No, there was a sizeable faction on that board who were on Newsome's nads until he decommitted. He then immediately went from being the savior of the offense to a project. 4CA went from having an ego and not a great fit for the offense to "confident" and the new savior (of course after yesterday, Bellisari may have been considered a savior). Personally, I think Newsome is a more complete package than Forcier and has a much higher ceiling. Forcier is the better passer that I can see, but not the athlete.

I think it's really up in the air, but my gut still tells me VT. He like the UNC staff, and I've even heard UVA lately. Who else? State Penn? I don't know. If their "HD" spread offense impresses this year, that may be possibility, but I doubt it.

Michigan to redshirt freshman QB Feagin; no starter announced

Michigan freshman Justin Feagin will redshirt the season as the team pushes forward with Steven Threet and Nick Sheridan at quarterback, coach Rich Rodriguez said Monday.

Feagin's speed made him a potential candidate to see the field this season, but Rodriguez said the 6-foot, 190-pound freshman from Deerfield Beach, Fla., needs more time to prepare.

"He's not ready," Rodriguez said.

The coach didn't announce a starter for Saturday's game against Miami (Ohio) and provided no timetable on a when a decision would be made.

Sheridan started the opener against Utah and struggled before being replaced by Threet early in the third quarter.

Contd....

So much for Feagin being "better than Pryor". :roll1:

How fucked up do you have to be to get redshirted and declared "not ready" by RR after watching those other two ass clowns play QB?

WTF, can he not take a snap and run for his life?
