2008 Buckeye Football Season

...a team I consider to be equal in domination, 94 Penn State, almost all of the games were decided by more than 14 points; NEB had one close call, PSU had two, UM and IND...

The above is excerpted from a very good post. Good research and a point well made.

One 'nit' I will pick about the '94 nits; the Indiana game was not really a close call. Indiana scored a touchdown on the last play of the game with their starters; JoePa was playing the last players on his travel squad. Then, with no time left, Indiana goes for and makes a 2 point conversion to make the score look closer than it was. That game was a beat down.

I can't argue with that because I have no recollection of that game and may not have seen it. Still, giving up 29 to Indy is never a good thing. I did like that 94 nits team, I have 3 uncles and 2 cousins who went to PSU. I thought they should have gotten a share of the NC that year. A PSU/NEB bowl game that year would have been outstanding.

Yep, if Joe Pa remembers how to run up a score like he did against us that IU "blemish" never happens.

PSU conspiracy theories aside, I still think they lost their share of the NC when the failed to blow out a lightly regarded Oregon team in the Rose Bowl.

Beginning at about the 1:24 mark, there is evidence that Thaddeus Gibson is going to hurt people this season. He is jacked up.

Was that Gibson? I thought it was Rolle.

Very cool video though. I like the "You gotta have a sense of urgency!!!" Couldn't agree more.

Quite so. Third time is a charm and all that. Someone said it before, that there's plenty of senior leadership on this team. Plenty of talent, that seems to 'blend' in better than I've ever seen. Not just stars trying to impress the pro scouts, but 3* guys that are out to win. OSU's biggest stars are in fact 3*'s, who 'remember where they came from'. It appears that the system (OSU) helps develop those kids. Well, there's guys that are primping for the 'big dance', and what better way than to have all eyes on them in the BCS bowl (once again). Yeah, OSU (we) lost twice, but doggone it, we got there twice, right?

We lose to USC, and it's a real uphill battle, as a 2-loss SEC team will always be planted above OSU in the standings. By the by, the SC boards are predicting a pretty easy romp over OSU (we creamed Illinois, and they beat OSU, plus we don't lose in the big games, etc).

Some of those kids, Gibson comes to mind, have ballooned up strengthwise, I think he's a 58 in the chest, and about a 26 in the waist. He appears to be primed, and he's only a sophomore.

With what we've got here, they'll give lessons to the young 'uns coming in (the Pryors, Adams, Shugarts, etc) and show them how it's done. So prepare for another BCS this year, and then in two more, and three more, and then four years out <= waaaay to early prognostication, or just maybe a fervent hope. OSU has the formula, and the drive.......now if we only had SEC speed
