2008 Bracketology Discussion

I don't know what to make of the bubble picture anymore. This is one of the thinnest years of quality teams in recent memory. Numerous teams had a chance to step up yesterday and secure a bid, but failed to do so.

Big night for the Buckeyes, especially in regards to the way events unfolded in the Pac 10. ASU, Oregon, and Arizona all lost. Arizona's RPI dropped from 34th to 39th. So their RPI is no longer their suspender to keep their pants from falling down. And their inclusion into the tournament could have carried the other two teams, because Oregon and Arizona State both swept Arizona, and have better records. You couldn't fairly have excluded the other two teams in that case. Maybe only one team gets a bid to reward the Pac 10 for being such a strong conference this year? Other conferences are getting half their members.

The SEC was such a lackluster major conference this year, I was just looking for one reason to see either Arkansas or Ole Miss ousted. Ole Miss' loss was a disaster.

I stick to my guns about Baylor. I may have to retract my support for Nova. However, at this point OSU shouldn't make it either without at least beating a quality team like MSU on a neutral court.

Somebody step up and earn a bid!

Why would I want to get over them? I love to watch them play :)... Plus I went to K's camp when I was in Jr. High and got to learn from him several years... He's one of the best human beings I've ever met...

Those genes are through marriage, so I ended up missing out on them :(...
I met him last year.....while he was ripping his team to shreds (not to them....to the assistants) after losing to VCU. He's not that big of a fan of Paulus.

Yeah like teams like George Mason make it in but we have to beat a quality team on a neutral court. Why doesn't every team in the country play their regular-season games on a neutral court been then there would be no need for such discussion. In the back of my mind, I don't think you want Ohio State in the tournament no matter what you are saying.

Your Badgers really looked dominating today:lol:

What, I can't make out your words, Wisconsin's Big Ten Trophy is blocking my monitor.

Wisconsin won by 17 points by the way. Hey, didn't you lose to Michigan? Wisconsin's only incentive in the Big Ten Tournament is to avoid an early loss. We can't improve our seed by winning the tournament the way Delaney scheduled the final as a lead in to the selection sunday. I'd just as soon rest everyone to avoid a crushing injury (like last year's) in this meaningless exercise.

Last time I checked, George Mason got an automatic bid. What does George Mason have to do with an at large discussion?

I want Ohio State, and everyone who makes a tournament, to earn their bids. 2-10 (if you lose today) against the RPI top 50, both wins coming at home, is not earning a bid. I've been consistent for years that my own personal criteria is the ability to beat teams who are actually in the tournament, in the tournament situations or tougher in which you'll actually play them (road or neutral). I'm not making an exception just because I kind of like you. I'm not an OSU fan, thus my support is not blind. It's conditional. You're welcoming to outside opinions......as long as they're consistently positive in your favor.

Questionable ticky tack call to give Tenn a chance at a 2 pt lead... but missed...

USC-85 Tenn 86 0:36.3 left

Of course, not given at the other end to USC for identical, if not greater, contact.

USC 87 Tenn 86 0:16.7 left

Tyler Smith flattens USC player during boxout 5 feet from basket... again, no call on the conf flagship team.

USC now stuck with only 1.1 sec to overcome 2 pt deficit.
