Also heard that these two girls competes last year in national events and their ages were listed as 12 and 13. Now a year later, they are 16?

I think you forgot to convert their ages from metric.

Seriously, we can solve this once and for all. Just cut them in half at the waist and count the rings.

I brought up the china gymnastics age thing to my girlfriend..

She said that doing gymnastics throws off development/puberty and that in China at like the age of 4, parents have 2 options:
  1. Send their kid to school
  2. Send their kid to gymnastics
Any truth to this? I don't trust her as far as I can throw her :tongue2:

I know at one point they were talking about the girls in china at about age 4 leave their parents to go train to be gymnist at special schools. many times they are gone for years and only get to see their parents once or twice a year.

China just went 1-2 in a swimming event. That's not the way for the US to hold them off in the medal count. If I recall correctly, I think they said that China hadn't won a medal in swimming before? Or maybe that was just gold medals?

In another final, Lezak tied for the bronze, winning his first ever individual medal. Congrats to him, he's having a nice run in Beijing.
