Peace could become a future NFL HOF'er...hell if I know. The aspect of your recruiting that nobody is impresed with is defensive recruiting. 4 out of 12 being offense and only 4 defense is a huge mistake.

I get excited when the Buckeyes get a stud defensive player like Newsome/McDougal/Brown...etc more than offensive. Defense wins championships.

Brutus we know you meant 8 on offense and 4 on defense.

To further scrutinize and emphasize your point, it is not as if RR has neglected to offer scholies for the defensive side. According to Scout site he has issued 29 scholarship offers to defensive recruits but with mixed results. Of those 29 defensive offers:
Four verbals, LB, 2 S, DT.

Five other DT offers, 2 verbaled elsewhere, lead for none.

Three DE offers, 1 verbal elsewhere (Fellows), lead for none.

Two other LB offers, 1 verbal elsewhere, lead for none.

Eight other S offers, 2 verbal elsewhere, lead for none.

Seven CB offers, 1 verbal elsewhere (Corey Brown), lead for none.

If I cared about the future of TSUN, I would be very concerned about the low level effectiveness of the defensive recruiting.

I'm not sure if that's what he is going to post. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Scout $

Tate Forcier down to 10... ASU, UF, UM, Neb, NMex, Oreg, PSU, Stan, aTm, Wazzou.

Worst kept secret in the recruiting industry right now... not surprising that Rich's "guy" at QB, Newsome, is not a very firm commitment with Beaver committed and Tate looming.

From another forum I'm apart of..

ROFLMFAO at a tUoO$ fan saying he doesn't want punks and thugs on his team. WOW. Maybe you should look into another school, then.

Here's to the whole thread..

MaddenMania

And FWIW, this particular scUM fan praised Terrelle Pryor's glory and tried to say that he had given RR a silent verbal and all that jazz, then, when things began to turn sour in that department for UM, he turned a complete 180 and said that Justin Feagin would be a better QB than him and that the only reason Ohio State landed Pryor was because we had boosters that made better payments than Penn State, and that scUM refused to partake in any thing dealing with NCAA violations... all BS to the fucking extreme.

You can tell when you own a team.

It is all about what happens on the field. Your guys are faster and smarter and better coached. But when you get your ass handed to you - more than once. When all the arguments about ref calls and bad breaks simply can't stand up any more.... then it is all about something else. Then it is O$U and Tressel cheats.

Learn to love it. From the classless fan that is all you will get.

I'd be interested in reading your between the lines thoughts behind your statement above. The defense at UM is supposed to be the means to keeping your teams in games this coming year. Yet, RR is not really reaching out right now to sure up that portion of the team. IF (and yes, it's a big IF) this is RR's trend when it comes to defense; then are you not concerned? Furthermore, you know that OSU is going to bring it in a balanced ground game and air attack. The Buckeyes are securing pieces for the next 3-4 years right now. IF RR and UM want to have a chance; then they need to start bringing in the pieces now.

No doubt... but RR knows better than any of us what the team needs. Im not worried about our defensive recruiting we are in good shape with alot of good players. Craig Roh and Mike Jones are coming in for visits this week.

he turned a complete 180
It's happening again, now with Newsome. Now that Tate's continuing recruitment has rocked the apple cart with the Newsomes, he is afraid of competition. Surely it could not be what the Newsomes were told by RR. The secretive affair between RR & Tate must just be hidden for the fun of it.

Most staffs know what they need, doesn't mean they address all of those needs well.

Next year, this could be your depth chart if Graham goes pro:

DT: Campbell, Martin, Ferrara, Kates, Criswell, (09 frosh?)
DE: VanBergen, Patterson, Banks, (09 frosh 1?), (09 frosh 2?)

yikes.

Campbell may be ready to fill a need right away, but doing so is pretty rare for DL in general, and unlikely to happen consistently with the other '09 DL RR brings in

Where's the depth up front? That's where a good defense starts, and I don't see um very high on very many DL lists. Surely even a homer such as yourself can admit the caliber of defensive recruits DR is bringing in isn't up to snuff by typical um standards...
*** LB Jordan Barnes
*** DB Dewayne Peace (ATH supposedly gonna play DB)
*** S Isaiah Bell
**** S JT Turner
***** DT Will Campbell (committed to Carr, though he will apparently honor his commitment)

What good DL prospects look like legitimate potential wolverines? Lowery? Miami. Boyd? Won't leave the delta region. Graham? USC. Ankrah? Probably gonna stay home in Maryland.

The rest of your front seven prospects...
***Dede Lattimore? maybe, but it'll be a battle.

The rest are borderline prospects and are shots in the dark as to whether they're Big-10 caliber defensive players. You have some decent DB's and DB prospects, but it all starts up front, and scUM is dangerously thin. I'd be quite concerned if this was going on in Columbus.
