I am starting to think that RR really believes that the B10 is a big slow lumbering conference. All he needs is a quick gimmick offense and he will roll all over the B10. His recruiting tells you this.

Who in their right mind would waste 5-6 schollies in a two year span on the same position(slot WR). He is loading up the offense and neglecting the defense. He is/has spent/spending 30+ scholarships on offense versus maybe 15 on defense out of around 45 schoalrships in 2008 and 2009.

My thoughts exactly.

I was thinking about this last night. RR has a "gimme" year where he doesn't have to field anything spectacular. Thus, IF I was in his shoes; then I'd be going after the trenches first (O and D) and then after the skill positions. I fully realize that I'm not nor have I ever been a football coach; however, we all know where the games are won and lost. It appears that he never got that memo.

It's happening again, now with Newsome. Now that Tate's continuing recruitment has rocked the apple cart with the Newsomes, he is afraid of competition. Surely it could not be what the Newsomes were told by RR. The secretive affair between RR & Tate must just be hidden for the fun of it.

Blowing this way out of proportion!

Which is even funnier when you look that the teams in the Big East that fielded a decent defense managed to contain his vaunted offense. With the athletes tOSU is recruiting on both sides of the ball, DickRod is setting himself up himself directly behind the eightball.

He hasnt even coached a game yet, but you assume he is already going to fail.

According to the scout database Michigan has 24 committed offensive players in the last 2 seasons. I realize that this recruiting season isn't over for you guys but thats a full class right there...how many more schollies you guys have...10-11. If they go 50/50 offense/defense then my figure is about right 29-30 offensive players and 15-17 defensive players. That would put you guys at almost 66% offense...at the very least 60% offense.

Actually, he's coached a whole bunch of games and I've seen how he operates. Also, I'm not assuming anything, I'm merely pointing out that he's setting himself up quite nicely to fail. And if he does, I'll thoroughly enjoy it. Your blind faith in a man who has done nothing to earn it is also setting you up nicely for a wonderful disappointment.

Depth is probably one of the most underated aspects of a football team. An example is Terrance Taylor...what happens if he goes down? He and Will Johnson are two very good DT but IMO Will Johnson benefits from Having Terrance there...If he goes down it will have a negative synergistic effect on your defense. You have little dpth outside of those two...Don't give me names of warm bodies because that don't mean shit...I mean quality players with vast experience.

DE is the biggest hole for your defense. Graham and Jamison are solid but who backs them up...what if one goes down? The simple answer is your fucked!!!!!

This is why recruiting 60-66% offense is gonna screw you. This is not the Big Least this is the B10 and players will go down...Michigan does not have nor have they recruited enough depth.

you fool! this just proves indisputably that Tressel is scared of Rich Rodriguez!!! you see, Ohio State recruiting the best players in the country shows without a doubt that OSU is not going to be able to stop the spread offense and Ohio State is screwed!! have you heard about this guy named Barwis?

MichiganZone's Blog Has Hung Up Their Cleats
Thus, rather than ever get to a point where people say, "Man, the MZone used to be so good. But now it sucks giant, Michigan-owning Buckeye nuts," I'd rather end it here on a high note and the old vaudevillian credo of "Leave them wanting more...caption contests and Photoshopped gems." And while I won't say never in terms of the MZone returning somewhere down the line - or in some other incarnation - if the passion returns, right now it's time to simply say farewell.
Too bad. One of the funnier blogs out there when at its peak.

I don't believe RR ever coached against a Big Ten team while at WVU.

Of course, he has seen us against the SEC on TV - so I can understand his coming to this conclusion.

^Something thats really weird that I have discovered is the southeast is the only part of the country that really disrespects OSU's/B10 talent. I was talking to a Texas Alum and he was ranting and raving about the Buckeyes. He said that VY escaped with the "W" in Columbus. He was bragging about the 2005 & 2006 teams speed. My question is the perception of OSU speed or lack of speed just a SEC fan perspective? More and more fans from other conferences are starting to see we have as much speed as anybody. Maybe it is like you said until a fan gets to see their team lined up against the Buckeyes they will never really understand.
