considering taylor would be a junior by the time he gets to campus, it won't be 3 years.

and being the heir apparent to someone that will be gone in two years is a different scenario than the possibility of being the backup to someone in the same class as you.
Taylor hasn't redshirted yet. Tech is strongly considering it for this year since it's Glennon's senior year.

IMO someone besides his father is finally giving him some logical advice. It sounds to me like his dad didn't feel like VT kissed his ass enough and it pissed him off. Thats what my buddy told me. He said that Newsomes father is looking for the bigger better deal. Hes one of those guys that feel like they have to benefit from their kid going to a school as well. Now that his former coach is in his ear I think the kid might be thinking for himself and is getting his eyes opened. Hopefully the kid gets to decide for himself rather than letting his dad decide for him.

There's also this, by the way:

"I know they want to take two and they're looking at Tate Forcier, Eugene Smith and some others," he said. "I'm not really worried about that. They told me I was their top guy and I know I have to compete. I just think the school and the football situation fit me right."
Emphasis Mgoblog's, which is where I got that. It comes from a Scout article, it's an old quote (two months or so) and it seems to debunk both the "afraid of competition" notion and the "misled" notion.

yep. a quoted recruiting article is bullet proof information. no mind games are ever played when it comes to recruiting.

Sometimes the scout boards are just a comedic goldmine...
