Based on the reactions of the assistants, initially, I'd say rehiring is a reactionary move due to some pressure from those who matter.

Cass Tech's Cissoko rethinks going to U-M

The first commitment of this current class came on last year's signing day when Detroit Cass Tech cornerback Boubacar Cissoko pledged to come to Michigan.
After Thursday's mass firings of the U-M staff, Cissoko cut the cord, saying today he's no longer a Michigan commitment.
?I'm looking at Penn State and am going to visit after the bowl game,? Cissoko said. ?I'll go back this week and look at some more schools I want to go you. Yeah, they have" contacted me.
Any chance he'll return to Michigan?
?I don't know right now,? said Cissoko, who found out about the firings from U-M defensive coordinator Ron English. ?All the coaches got fired. I don't know nobody on the new staff. I have no connection with them.?

OCBucksFan;1036250; said:I wouldn't really stress it that much, I see how it can be concerning right now, but if someone can't recruit at Michigan they have something seriously wrong with them. The worst you are looking at is a bad year of recruiting and next year going back to "We're the winningest program of all time, come to our school, Tom Brady did."
College football: Rodriguez brings back Michigan assistant
Saturday, December 22, 2007 5:10 AM
A day after putting his mark on the Michigan program by firing each of Lloyd Carr's assistants, new Wolverines coach Rich Rodriguez brought back Fred Jackson as running backs coach.
School spokesman David Ablauf said, "Rich spoke with everyone individually (Thursday) night and did not want to hold them up in exploring other options" while helping the Wolverines prepare to play against Florida in the Capital One Bowl on Jan. 1.
"He has rehired Fred Jackson as an offensive coach."
All the assistants were given two-year deals in March that will pay them through Feb. 28, 2009. Their firings are effective after the Capital One Bowl against Florida on Jan. 1.
