Putting the injuries/suspensions in perspective (posted by masked avenger on MGoBlog)
A truly dismal press conference.

Two of our best offensive players - Hart and Manningham? Out and limited practice respectively. Our #2 receiver and #1 TE might be dismissed from the team.

Carr's single-answer list of hoped for defensive back improvements dragged on what seemed like an hour, but must have just been mere minutes.

That is not even discussing the fact that we now have only one defensive end, one incoming fullback, and no experienced and uninjured TEs.
That all sounds like great news to me. :oh: :io:

Taken from GBW.com (non-premium forums)

Will he [Arrington] participate in spring practice?

No.

Will any other players miss spring practice?

If you have any names, you feel free to ask.

Eugene Germany?

No.

Carson Butler?

No.

Do you expect that those three players will meet your requirements to rejoin the team?

Um... that is possible... maybe not probable.

Wow, did not know that, as UH has not released its schedule yet. There were many here expecting USC, not CSU, when the Michigan talks broke off. This will be a tough sell to the general public, as UH's athletic director has been throwing around "bigger" names. I am more than a little surprised at this. Best of luck to your son. We now return to news from the school up north.

Game is scheduled for September 22nd at 11pm (EST). I already have my flight and hotel booked for the week. Looking forward to being in Hawaii for the first time.:)

UM's weakest unit, CB, has 5 bodies returning, 3 of which were former offensive players: WR Morgan Trent, WR Doug Dutch, RB Carlos Brown.

The other two are 5'8" nickelback Brandon Harrison & Chris Richards (who redshirted).

Gone: Hall (grad), Stewart (safety),

Almost. Michigan also has Johnny Sears returning at CB. Come fall, the depth chart should look something like this...

CB - Morgan Trent, RS Jr / Carlos Brown, So
CB - Johnny Sears, RS So / Donovan Warren, Fr
NB - Brandon Harrison, Jr / Michael Williams, Fr
Unlikely to play - Doug Dutch, RS Jr / Chris Richards, RS So

Trent is the only returning CB with starting experience. He has elite top end speed but his hips and instinct are mediocre. Not overly physical.

Sears is the expected starter opposite Trent. He and Brown are probably the two best pure athletes among the CBs - both have great hips and speed. Tends to perform much better in practice than in games. Higher upside than Trent, but less experience.

Brown - tremendous athlete. Transitioning from RB to CB this spring. Lacks experience.

Warren - highly regarded high school player. True frosh.

You're right, I forgot about sears. Thanks for the breakdown by position. Either way, I think that secondary is going to have serious issues stopping the pass next year.

Fortunately for UM, there is a lot of turnover at the QB position around the big ten (OSU, UW, Iowa, Minn).

One Hart Doth Not a Spring Make

Seems Hart is out of Spring Practice, and, for undisclosed reasons Arrington is also missing action.
Hart misses Spring because of a medical procedure - I'm guessing a brain transplant.

Yahoo

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) -- Michigan running back Mike Hart will miss spring practice because of a medical procedure and wide receiver Adrian Arrington is out for unspecified reasons.
Coach Lloyd Carr said Hart, who finished fifth in the Heisman Trophy voting, had "a minor arthroscopic procedure.

"He'll be fine," Carr said Wednesday.
Arrington, tight end Carson Butler and defensive end Eugene Germany will not be with the team during spring drills, which begin Saturday and end April 14.
"They're not practicing, and they're not injured," Carr said.
Will the trio be back on the team in August, if Carr's requirements are met?
"That is possible," he said. "Maybe not probable."

Not to be Continued? ...

Mmm, inteeresting ...
