Anyway, anyone think UM beats PSU this week?
Well, a big part of it is whether Mallett or Henne start. I'd be worried about PSU being Mallett's second career start.

I don't think PSU is diverse enough offensively to exploit UMs weakness. Kinlaw and Scott have put up rather pedestrian numbers against inferior competition, and Morelli is obviously not a run threat, so I think shutting down the run and forcing Morelli to throw is as good a bet as any. Morelli's decision making + ability vs. Michigan's secondary? Push.

Don't know the line, but I'll probably take the dog and the points that this one is close. Special teams could probably swing the outcome, and I think that favors PSU.

Psu has three very fast recievers, if Morelli suddenly finds some accuracy then.........
I will still pick PSU because of their D

There are two reasons that PSU is gonna beat Michigan. The first is their run defense. Michigan isn't gonna beat PSU by running the ball 50 times. Mallett will have to make some big plays with his arms. The second is that PSU's WR's will eat Michigans DB's alive.

38-21 PSU

They beat PSU with clock control and a good ground game last year in front of the All Mighty "White Out", don't see why they can't do it again. PSU's WRs are good, not great. Derrick Williams is the biggest fraud of a #1 overall recruit in recent history, and Butler and Norwood are more possession type receivers. Plus, Michigan USUALLY does well against stationary QBs and Morelli is no Mike Vick. Throw in the fact that he can't read a defense and I like our odds coupled with the recent series track record. 21-17 Michigan

They also started 11-0 last year. See the difference yet?

Michigan ought to do well against stationary QB's. Hell, that's the only kind of QB's they seem to acknowledge that even exists.

Picking scUM to beat anyone besides NoD these days is a risky proposition. Don't bet your last dollar.

Wow, Wolverines feeling their oats after beating NoD this past weekend. But remember, Penn State is no NoD. For one thing, they have a competent head coach.

To me this game will be more about PSU than scUM, PSU can choke this away and scUM can still move the ball. So really, if JoePa keeps his kids nice and calm then I think the skunks are up for a long day.

Really? Considering he hasn't done any "coaching" in roughly 10 years I'm inclined to disagree. Penn State has played 3 of the worst teams in division I-A, it's hard to judge how good they are. And Morelli is brutal

At least Joepa has won a bowl game and a BCS bowl since what 2003. Michigan cannot talk crap about JoePa he has done alot more in 50 years than all the Michigan coaches combined...including BO. Joepa has 2 NC's versus Michigans 1/2 championship and Joe has 6 undefeated season versus Michigans 1...He also has a higher bowl winning %.
