Talking with my dad last night, we agreed that the wolverweenies would do one of two things: 1) Come out smoking, taking control of the game and putting the App State game out of their thoughts; or 2) Roll over and play dead. We then agreed that it was the skunkbears we were talking about, and that App State game is never going to go away! I still don't think we've seen the pinnacle of this glorious scUM run yet. Hart guaranteeing victory next week....

Arizona's lackluster loss at BYU caused fans to blast coach Mike Stoops and question his future at UA. It also caused at least one recruit to reconsider his oral commitment to the Wildcats.

Highly regarded cornerback Robert Golden of Edison High School in Fresno, Calif., who gave his pledge to UA long ago and watched UA practice during fall camp, has decided to take official visits to Georgia Tech, Mississippi and Michigan.

"We have good kids and they're hurting," Wolverines coach Lloyd Carr said. "If losing doesn't make you hurt, you shouldn't be at Michigan."

Is that not a roundabout way of saying that Michigan plans on losing?

Henne not playing against NoD. Doubt it even matters. I have waited for this 0-2 powerhouse matchup for a long time.

Yesterday was a HUGE recruiting day for Michigan, apparently they had quite a few of their top targets there. Here's how it went with three of their priority picks:

A few feet away, a Michigan chaperone was trying to pry those recruits up the tunnel, out of the stadium and far away from all the Northwest propaganda. But the recruits didn't budge. They just stood, watching Oregon dance and listening to Stewart. And what did they think?

Said Hoseay: "I want to go to Oregon."

The other two recruits nodded.

Then Mason said he was considering more than stadium size and program history. Baker said he couldn't remember Michigan losing that badly. And then Timothy Hopkins, their high school coach who drove them the 45 miles from suburban Detroit to Ann Arbor for the visit, jotted down his telephone number and handed it to someone in lightning yellow and said, "Call me. I got players."

There was no facet of Oregon's victory more integral to the future of the program than the look on the faces of those three Wolverines recruits as they wondered what it would be like to wear a Ducks uniform. Hoseay even looked down at his necklace and, eek, said, "They didn't even spell my name right."

We have Block 'O', and are the consensus front-runner for Pryor. Michigan has kids picking their opponent for the week, and after the current outgoing class bids farewell this season, a roster full of poorly coached, poorly conditioned flops.

If we don't dominate the rivalry through at least 2010, I'll be disappointed.

Not to say I told ya so or anything...

Trent is their best DB. Gonna be a long year for the Blue. Can't figure out how everybody overlooks the returning talent (or lack thereof) they have on D.

Trent is most definitely not our best DB. Turns out we have a SS who's pretty good named Jamar Adams. Hell, Stevie Brown hasn't even played at FS yet and he's better than Trent, and I'd be willing to put a lot of money on the fact that Donovan Warren is much better than Trent. If all goes well Trent will be the nickel or worse by week 3.

Sorry, but Jamar Adams takes some of the worst angles of any safety I've seen. Again, if these are guys you're trumpeting as being high-level, you're just making my point for me. That defensive backfield may be the worst I've seen from an upper-level Big Ten school in a long time. There's not a single one that I've seen do anything spectacular... Trent, Sears, Harrison, Adams, Englemon (is he still around?). You have a redshirt freshman and a couple true freshmen that everybody is hoping will know what they're doing early, because if not that D is going to get lit up. It won't even take a great QB to get it done.

And James Laurinaitis takes some crappy angles for a linebacker, yet everyone still trumpets him as All-Jesus status. I'll take my odds with Jamar Adams. If our starting D sets up like this: Jamison-Taylor-Johnson-Graham, Crable-Thompson-C. Graham/Mouton, Warren/Trent/Sears/Williams and Adams/Brown at safety, I'll take my chances. Our D may not be as good as yours, but I'll take my odds. They don't have to be great, they have to be good enough.

The thing that makes me laugh is the fact that Oregon came out during half time with a sledge hammer and took it to the huge M in the center of the field, they not only beat them, but they insulted them and still they couldn't do anything about it. Outskilled or not, it shows something about the character of this team, they have already given up.

don't worry, when Va Tech loses to LSU by 30 it won't matter much.....assuming OSU takes care of business that is....
