Henne's career record in The Game and in bowls: 0-6. 'Nuff said...

Yeah, he has a good arm and everything, my personal knock on him is that I don't think he's very smart and not a very good leader at all. Just the look on his face half the time makes me think he's a few crayons short of a full box.

"Who am I supposed to throw it to on this play again? boy I wish I could just throw it really high and have Braylon catch it like the good ol' days."

I've seen both QBs a ton, and Brennen is head-and-shoulders above Henne as a passer...

Henne will be considered a better pro prospect b/c of his size and NFL systsem he's played in (right or wrong), just like Brady Qunn was overrated b/c of size and playing for Charlie Weiss

But Henne does have all the tools and I expect him to have a big year.....Brennen is definately a player but the knock on him will be playing for Hawaii obviously, and being a star in a pass first offense.....Texas Tech grads haven't really fared that well in the draft or Timmy Chang (from Hawaii) so I doubt Brennen gets taken in the first round

Re: Being 0-for-3 against the Bucks aggravates the Big Ten preseason player of the year. "We set our goals high," Henne snaps. "Michigan's always been like that. If their hated rival prevails again, Henne and Hart will be haunted scapegoats.

My guess is that he'll really be aggravated when he goes 0-4 !!!

I can't imagine the pressure on these guys. Last year they started 11-0 but after losing their last two it was the same old story. So no matter how strong they start that has to be in the back of their minds.

And when we come to AA there will be an overwhelming expectation of victory for UM. Not an enviable position.

As for your size argument:

Brennan is 6'3", 205
Henne is 6'3", 220

So the NFL will pick Henne over Brennan because he's 15 pounds heavier? We all know how immobile Henne is, and folks who've seen Brennan play knows that while he's no Troy Smith he can move pretty well. If anything, Brennan will get the nod due to his mobility (not to mention his far superior pasing skills).

As for the "system" argument, Hawaii's system better prepares a QB for the NFL than does Michigan's. Hawaii throws far more passes out of far more formations than does Michigan. The reason why Hawaii hasn't put as many QBs into the NFL as has Michigan is that Michigan gets the higher level of talent at QB. But Brennan has changed that...

Steve Young was indeed very good. McMahon? He was a nut job that fit with Chicago's nut job crowd. How much success did he have away from Chicago?
Brennan is a system QB.( Robbie Bosco, David Klingler, Ander Ware)
He could still win the Heisman.

McMahon was not HOF material but was an above average quarterback in his prime and was a big reason Chicago won their Super Bowl. He certainly was no Trent Dilfer who was basically asked to just not screw it up, McMahon could make plays. It's unfortunate some only remember him for his antics. A bad knee injury in '88 and other injuries were a big reason he never did much for another team and why he was never able to start more than 12 games in a season after that. Although he was able to help lead the Eagles and Vikings to winning records(10-6, 9-7) when he started 12 games in '91 and '93.

UM Media Day

MGoBlue Gallery - Trent, Graham look bigger.

Scout Gallery 1 - Incoming frosh + Slocum, Panter.

Incoming frosh will be relied upon early at DB. Despite the often referenced history of frosh performances of Woodson, Jackson, Hall... Warren is going to have to get bigger first, imo.

Thanks for the pics. Maybe Trent being bigger may mean he won't be one of the worst corners in America this year. Probably not, but maybe.
