Carr again tackles rumors

Michigan coach, 62, disputes health concerns, says he has no timetable for when he'll retire.

CHICAGO -- Michigan coach Lloyd Carr, looking tan and fit, celebrated his 62nd birthday Monday and then arrived here for the first day of the Big Ten kickoff not only to answer questions about his Wolverines -- voted the preseason favorite in the conference by the media -- but also about his health.
For the past several years, Carr has been challenged by rumors of illness that would force him to retire. Under unusual circumstances, he even called a news conference in December 2004 to refute what he said were rumors that had come from within the coaching fraternity to negatively recruit against Michigan.
The retirement talk has heated up again as the Wolverines prepare for preseason camp, and he was asked Tuesday about recent speculation concerning his health.

Regardless of what he tells the press I know for a fact that Lloyd suffers from an acute case of imtresselsbitchynosis and it very well could force him into early retirement.

Henne, Hart, Manningham, Long - OK, who was the fifth?

I can see Long and Manningham. Hart is good back but is overrated and Henne, as the formerly-Dead Schembechlers song goes, is a mother fuckin' joke. Hart being an All-American is a stretch, and Henne being one is flat out laughable.

Hell, I agree, it's not like I think they will all end up as AAs either. I'm just rounding up all the usual suspects.

at the risk of getting lit up, Chad Henne is pretty damn good and I'd certainly take him on the Bucks roster for this year

In person, dude throws one of the better balls I've seen....I was really impressed during "The Game" last year seeing the ball through the air

I could easily see him as a first rounder in next years draft and think he'll make a better pro than Brady Quinn

Henne is pretty good. My top tier of QBs is Brennan/Brohm. The next tier has guys like Henne, Booty, McCoy, etc.

Hart may be in the discussion, but faces stiff competition in Slaton, McFadden, Rice and others.

Long is a stud, no arguments from me.

Manningham is a lethal WR, but not very complete. Fortunately for him, every draft-eligible WR with a pulse departed for the NFL, which will probably give him good reason to declare. He's right near the top though with Jackson, Sweed, Harvin, Bowman, imo.

Suggesting there's a 5th AA candidate is a reach of cartoon proportions. Sure Crable, Graham, etc could explode into superstars, but they're nowhere near that discussion yet.

Henne will be drafted before Brennan, most likely behind Brohm unless an injury occurs

I think another big name to break out next year will Kansas State QB Josh Freeman who will be a sophomore....kid looked amazing against Texas and has major athletic abaility to go with a great arm
