One off year and Im not going to get into it. We are already making up for last year with Cissoko.
One guy in the 2008 class doesn't make up for missing out on your top 9 (per Rivals) in-state guys in the 2007 class.

I love the cockiness all of you Buckeye fans have, reminds me of Michigan in the 90's this won't last forever.
Where do you get cockiness on our part? You were the one claiming to get whomever you want...

Let's not forget:

1) you are on a Buckeye site.
2) you are supposed to be having a clean start
3) the door is open for you to leave whenever our "cockiness" becomes too much.

And buckeye fans said the same midway (95/96) through that stretch... yet it continued until 2001. I'm not sure that's the best example, nor very relevant to this discussion.

That's what happens when you win, but we still get to pick who we want.
I don't see why everyone's pants are bunched up over poor young goblue15. After all, he makes it clear that UM picks whom they want -- not that they get whom they want.

I picked Angelina Jolie some time ago, but that hasn't worked out yet ...

There was no way Carr was going to kick Arrington off unless he did something really bad.
His latest incident was not terrible (by itself) but it was not his first drug incident... and his third overall if you count the "underage-drinking, domestic-dispute, drive-off" incident. I'd be curious if a player like Dutch would have been given this many chances...

Funny you mention Dutch, because he's had his share of off-field problems while at UM. OSU fans throwing stones about under-age drinking and domestic disputes? Wow. Glass houses anyone?

FYI, the entire "underage-drinking" thing in regards to Arrington- BS. No evidence of him drinking whatsoever and his case got thrown out.

If every kid was kicked off of a team for underage-drinking there would be hardly any freshman, sophomores, and some juniors in D-1 football, because 95% of them all drink underage.

As far as this debate about Michigan not locking up their in-state talent, puhh-lease. Most years UM only takes anywhere from 4-6 in-state kids, 7, maybe 8 TOPS if it's a real, real good year for talent. Some years they only take 1 or 2 kids. For example, in the '06 class they only took 2 in-state kids. Three if you count Quenten Woods, who they added at the last second, but Woods wasn't able to get admitted into UM.

UM already has verbals from 3 of the top 6 players in the state and are looking good for two of the others in Fred Smith and Nick Perry. Jonas Gray rounds out that top 6, but he probably won't get an offer because UM is in on better RB prospects like Sam McGuffie, Darrell Scott, and Covaughn Deboskie.

I think you completely missed the boat here.

I believe jwinslow is trying to say that since Arrington is a vital part of UM's offense, it takes more for him to be kicked off the team than a player that is not (Dutch.)

1.) When was the last timne you've heard anything about OSU players getting in trouble for underage drinking and domestic disputes? For a hint, check our Police/Legal Blotter thread.

2.) There's a difference between not taking a lot of players from in-state and not being able to get top players from your state that you're after.
