Michigan player or not, you don't like to hear this sort of thing...

I'm with you 110%.

While we all can argue with eachother, rag on eachother on these boards as a fanbase, I would like to think that for the most part 99% of us don't go to far and start to hate these players as individuals, root against them in everyday life, and hope bad things happen to them. Believe it or not, there are some disturbed individuals like that out there on these types of boards.

Really hate it to see players get injured on any level. Really hate when a guy gets injured in the NFL, but when they get injured in college, it just bothers me alot more. Ok, for instance I'm an Eagles fan, back when T.O. broke his leg against the Cowboys, felt real bad was sad to see him get injured, but mad at the same time b/c it hurt the Iggles. Anyway, end of the day you know he's still got his millions. When it happens to a college kid it's just hits you harder, because these are still 18-20 year old kids who are doing this for the love of the game, and when they suffer career ending injuries it makes me sick. These aren't grown men who are for the most part just playing for their $100,000 a week pay-checks and who have already made millions and have set-up themselves and their families for life.

I just can't see that roster of DB's doing anything close to shutting down a decent passing game. Trent as the #1 corner? Sears #2? Please. Jamar Adams as allright, if nothing else than for his experience. Reminds me a bit of Nate Salley. Decent but not a star. And forget about any depth. A team with 4-5 capable receivers will pose a huge mismatch problem with that secondary.

On offense, Lloyd has already run Hart into the ground. He'll be a 1000 carry back by the end of the year. Ridiculous amount of carries for someone that has had injury problems in the past. mich is better off without Grady in the backfield. But where's the depth? Minor isn't bad. After that? Avery Horn?

From Fiutak's ask.CFN. Discussion of his first Q/A doesn't belong in this thread.

For my variation of a question you probably get 20 times a day: How does Michigan finally turn the corner? I know you'll want to quote stats showing how the maize and blue faithful shouldn't be disappointed, but, come on, it's pretty much national consensus that this team is consistently underachieving. ? Matt

A: (Heavy sigh) ?Consistently underachieving?!? Turn what corner? Your Wolverines went 11-0, played the number one team in the nation almost dead-even on its turf, and would?ve gotten a rematch had Arkansas won the SEC title or if Florida looked lousy in the win over the Hogs. Forgetting how things turned out after the Rose Bowl, Michigan was this close to playing for the national title, and it underachieved? 116 teams, USC and LSU included, would?ve killed to have been in that spot.

With that said, you are right in a way and I?ll quote stats to prove it. Since winning the 1997 national title, Michigan has gone 3-6 against Ohio State. Quick, name the three biggest wins over a non-Buckeye team since the national title? I?ll help you out: 1) The 35-34 2000 classic Orange Bowl win over Alabama, 2) the 2005 27-25 last-second win over a Penn State team that finished 11-1 with an Orange Bowl win, and 3) the 1998 27-10 win over a Wisconsin team that went 11-1 and won the Rose Bowl. Good wins all, and the Wolverine got another win over a great Badger team in 1999 and gave out the only regular season loss to Illinois in 2001. Where are the Rose Bowl wins? Where are the big bowl victories? Where are the signature key wins that prove the program deserves to call itself the leader and best?

To actually get to the national title game, Michigan needs luck; every top team, for the most part, does. There?s an old adage that college basketball coaches like to use that applies here. Keep cranking out great team after great team and get into a position to be in the national title hunt, and eventually it?ll be your turn.

Michigan turns to youth in final spring practice

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) ? Many of the veterans Michigan will lean on during the coming season sat out Saturday's final day of spring practice, which proved to be great news for the team's younger players.

The Wolverines worked a lot of new players into a simulated game the defense won 42-41 in front of 5,500 fans at a chilly, windy Michigan Stadium.

"I've don't ever remember being 100% in the spring," coach Lloyd Carr said before the session began. "That's why the emphasis is on the younger players.

"There's plenty of time for improvement at every position."

Quarterback Chad Henne, who threw for 2,508 yards, 22 touchdowns and eight interceptions last season, was the most familiar face on the field Saturday. He threw a touchdown pass to Greg Matthews before giving way to backup Ryan Mallett. While Henne saw limited action, other returning offensive anchors spent the day on the sideline or in street clothes.
