End result is Carr earned himself a few more years (which is good for us, obviously) but still didn't do anything of any substance when it counted.

I'm not so sure that he earned any more years. In this age of "what have you done for me lately," the fans remember that Carr lost to Ohio State AGAIN and lost the bowl game AGAIN. 11-0 to start the year? So what?

I have a strong feeling that Carr will be out after this year (not officially fired, but retired) if he doesn't either beat Ohio State or win a BCS bowl game.

the word is that kevin grady tore his acl and that carlos brown has not been to practice and may be transferring.

When talking about players and their conditions, the letters "ACL" are rarely used in good news about that player. Especially when they're so close to the word "tore." But I don't know what this means. Does this usually mean he's out all of spring? Or more along the lines of a majority or all of the fall, too?

The Carlos Brown notes is contrary to what super_mario posted on Friday.

EDIT - unless this is a very recent development, in which case...

I've heard alot of good things about a trio in the defensive backfield thus far. Johnny Sears is playing with more confidence than ever at corner, Stevie Brown has made some excellent plays in pass coverage at free safety, and Carlos Brown (who switched over from RB) has been a surprise. If Brown continues what he's been doing in the spring into the fall then there is a chance he could be the nickelback.

Maybe switching someone to nickleback is how Lloyd Carr punishes his RB's who don't show up to practice.

Kevin Grady did tear his ACL and LCL. Carlos is basically gone he wants to play runningback, with grady going out he might stay with the depth so thin and Hart who is very injury prone. We might have to pass alot next year, but knowing Lloyd we won't.

Honestly besides QB, RB(only Hart), WR(MM), and DL I am not hearing a lot of good news coming out of the tsun camp...

Boren is struggling some to get his steps down at center, LBS are very thin(Crable being the best), S's and CB we know they aren't strong...

Can they depend on a good starting offense but not much depth, and a defense that seems to be filled with holes?

How good would you feel about '07 if we had their team, its coach and all the issues you mentioned? I know I wouldn't be thinking BCS.

Talented but thin offense, bad defense from '06 will be even worse in '07, new kicker iirc, and Lloyd at the helm. scUM fans should be sweating like a fag watching Brad Pitt eat a hot dog.
